Lincoln Riley:
Pros: Qb developer. Brings offense. High win percentage. Young. Great Recruiter.
Cons: Never won big game. Soft and poor defenses.
Dave Aranda:
Pros: Brings defense. Attention to detail. Smart coach. Familiar with LSU. Young.
Cons: Small head coaching resume. Mediocre recruiter.
Billy Napier
Pros: Great Recruiter. Wins. Built and sustained program. Worked under Saban and Dabo. Knows Louisiana. Young
Cons: Big jump from G5 to P5. Brings offense that has not produced as well as you might expect.
Matt Campbell:
Pros: Built and sustained Iowa st. Gets the most out of talent. Teams play hard. Has won some big games. Young
Cons: Culture Fit. No recruiting ties to the south. Doesn't really bring expertise to either side of the ball.

What the frick does culture fit mean?
I agree with this list but if I never hear "culture fit" again after we hired yawyaw coachogeauxtigers, it'll be too soon.

Also makes great halftime adjustments.

Sounds like Napier is the best of the bunch

this is a fair take on all of them.
It would be good to do this for any potential hire that may be coming from the NFL we haven't been talking about. Left field.

The frick?
Literally the thing fans and players say most about him is how strong of a "culture" guy he is. He is a great locker room builder.
Absolutely should be in the "pro" list.
Just because you aren't from Louisiana or have experience coaching there doesn't mean there's a culture fit problem. Saban?

The ones that check these boxes the most are the best.
1. Recruit
2. Develop them emotionally, physically, mentally
3. Prepare them mentally during spring ball.
4. Prepare them mentally for September (avoid UCLA/Wisconsin/va tech f-ups)
5. Prepare them mentally for the rest of the year.
6. Have back ups mentally and physically prepared to come in right away.
7. Have a great pregame plan
8. Make adjustments during the second quarter.
9. Make adjustments during half and 3/4 quarters as well.
10. Sustain success
11. Address failures.
12. Learn from failures/success.
13. Get better and grow as a coach.
14. Keep pressing pedal when up with starters and 2nd/3rd team
15. Never give up when down.
16. Hire the best coaches staff
17. Address NIL or have ad address it

How does "Built and sustained Iowa st." equate to 5+ losses every year except 2020?
You can't give MC credit for winning big games and criticize LR for not. LR has better win percentage against ranked teams than MC. Just happens his losses come mainly in the CFP.

The only one of the coaches named here that Woodward would even remotely consider is Riley.
The rest of these guys have virtually no history (more than 1 or 2 years) of success against power 5 competition. You really think Woodward would put his legacy on the line with any one these gambles. It is just not Scott's M. O.!

Culture fit is referring to his comments on the goal not being to win championships.

“Culture” fit means understanding that s. Louisiana high school prospects have a different attitude I.e. “culture,” than most of the rest of the South. That means successfully recruiting and coaching those people takes a different approach.
If you deny it, you are not conversant with what goes on down those little back roads in the river parishes. And you have never lived elsewhere in the heart of the South and seen rural small town football culture there.
After a new LSU coach has established his own culture, his older players will help perpetuate that attitude. But it has to be established first and the new coach needs to understand what is in that current LSU locker room and from whence that attitude comes.
There is a reason top LSU players have been quitting, opting out, “injured with six games to play,” etc. for 8-10 years. Fournette, Guice, Key, etc., full-in-the-blanks, are all symptomatic of a bad culture going back to Peruloux. They each learned the me-first from older players like an in-mate learns from other cons.
The source? - (1) Louisiana culture itself declaring “I do de same ting too if I be dat man (Edwin Edwards).”(2) Perriloux split the team in 2008 and it was condoned by Miles who acceded to player control with team votes. If you watched the LSU receivers refuse to block for Jefferson in the 1-9-12 game because they were pouting about the game plan, you will recognize the issue.,
Afterwords, Fournette getting to chose what games to play in (Florida) was the same culture system perpetuated by O.
An incoming coach better be aware of the issues and be willing to clean house. No other team in the SEC has this opt out, me-first problem anywhere close to what exists at LSU.
