Finally got down to Bossier to talk with some family, and I caught wind of a little bit of a mental skirmish within our coaching staff.

Canada apparently is checked out, for example, checking out HC vacancies as opposed to positively helping LSU recruit. And as a result, Orgeron has him targeting QBs that we have a pretty slim shot at getting.

He wanted to go after Rice, not the other way around. As to why the interview fell through, your guess is as good as mine.

Orgeron has his man should Canada fall through , or so they think. They DO talk to people within the LSU community and they do hear things.

Ensminger was not among the mentioned names but I can give a short list.

Orgeron wants.. A fan pleasing name if you will. The dudes up top are high on the Briles train.

Kendall was mentioned, alongside Dan Enos and Hugh Freeze.

Freeze actually was a name that broke out among a few reporters, although I have yet to see anything said about him for OC, so im assuming thats bullshite.

Disclosure, no saucy sauces here. Just hearsay from the trustworthy side of my family rooted in louisiana and LSU athletics.

They know their shite though. I for one would prefer Canada give us another year with his system but the way he interacts with everyone seems to me like he thinks hes better than his position. Stuck up I guess.

Geaux Tigers.

Gotta say, Orgerons words on Canada kind of seem like an invite to leave.

Has anybody heard any about the players liking or disliking Canada? I don't recall any of them alluding to their being issues other than extra running for the eye candy.

Canada looks more and more like a drama queen everyday.

The rice situation sounds like he wasn't in their pool of potential candidates.

I believe Doug Nussmeier is still available. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

The players love it. Even the recruits love it. Noah Cain is wanting LSU simply because he wants the one two punch on offense.

Its a coaching staff issue.

I would rather keep Canada and lose Orgeron if I had to chose.

O needs to let the man run his offense and stay out of his way. This isn't hard. Let Canada and aranda do their thing and collect wins/checks.

Heres what I know for sure. Canada is looking for a way out, but his resume may not be strong enoigh for a Head Coach gig.

His contract will penalize him for leaving for any position thats not a head coach. I think we may be safe for another year.

Canada is trying his damn hardest though.

So our receivers that couldn’t get on the field this year because they didn’t know the playbook will be learning a new offense again next year?

which is a shame because he should have the offense humming next year. He could cash in big after 2018. Of course O might be pushing him out.

This is an example of why LSU is getting passed by rivals. More concerned with saving money than moving forward.

Either commit to Canada or cut him loose and get their guy. Don't wait for him to find a job and only have Ensminger as an option.

They need someone there getting recruits and starting to teach his offense to the young QBs.

This is such a dumb statement, or should I say a strong indication of someone who doesn't understand coaching.

Or you aware that Saban wasn't in our pool of potential candidates until he had his agent make contact? Guess you assume Saban was a drama queen way back then too. Many many coaching hires result from a coach getting his name added to a list.

I'm kind of indifferent on Canada staying or going. His offense was adequate this year. I saw improvements over Miles 1937 clunker philosophy. At the same time there were some frustrations and the passing game wasn't particularly developed vs past years. Was that a product of Etling's limitations?

Prod me into a decision and I think I'd rather he stay around for some consistency and so we don't have to break in a new QB at the same time he's learning another new playbook.

But Freeze or Briles are intriguing names. Particularly Freeze, who's had offensive success in this conference. If you line up Freeze, Briles and Canada and I've got to chose one, Canada probably doesn't top my list.
