Since there will be an opening once Pete retires could they just bring in Briles then. He could coach the QBs, learn about the personnel, and essentially be the OC in waiting once Canada leaves. Hell, Lane owes O one so he shouldn't mind.

Much better than under Miles

I prefaced my original comment by saying I'd prefer Canada stay. I don't dislike his offense.

However, the results are nearly identical to the offense that got Miles fired whether you like it or not. And by nearly identical, I mean a 5th year Sr qb passed for about 5 more ypg, and we rushed for about 5 fewer ypg.

It is definitely more enjoyable to watch, but it was not "good" this season as you stated.

Also, I hate the air raid. Not sure where that comment came from.

The players love it. Even the recruits love it. Noah Cain is wanting LSU simply because he wants the one two punch on offense.

Love what?

This is what happens when a buffoon is your head coach. This could only be more enjoyable if we fired Aleva just to hire Currie as AD.

If LSU gets Kendal Briles we will be kicking bama’s teeth in with a developed QB and offensive guru

This is what happens with a figurehead coach. We tried this with Mike Dubose. We knew he was retarded but we would give him Bruce arians, woody Mccorvey, etc and he could just get out if the way and our assistants would do the work. Well, it doesn't work that way.

If the coach isn't a strong personality, the assistants lose respect for him. Start to talk about the hc behind his back. Don't do what the hc asks. If the assistants are running things they start to say hey, I should be the head coach. I do the work and he gets the money so they start looking for jobs or sabatoge the head man.

These coaches don't look at it like we fans do. We want what's best for the program. These coaches, it's just a job. They want what's best for THEIR career.
Oh, it will work for a while but eventually ends up a train wreck. If ed o is just a figurehead who stays out of the way, LSU will be winning 3 games a year soon. You're seeing effects with this Canada mess after one season.

If he wants out get a mutual agreement to part ways. I don't want his arse here if he doesn't want to coach here. That could be a disaster waiting to happen next season for a coach who already checked out before the season started.

I don't know why our idiot fans thought this would be a good idea. Would any of us be happy doing all of the work while some fatass boss gets paid a lot more for doing nothing and gets all of the credit. There isn't a person here that would be happy with it.

Even though Freeze is hot if they feel comfortable with him I'd take him with tight watches on him 24/7 while he's at the program. His system works in the SEC, he's good with QBs and he's a pretty good recruiter. He checks pretty much everything you need. Only issue is his baggage.

I think LSU needs help recruiting on staff. Need to take a serious look at some dead weight on the staff. Not really thrilled with the WR coach. Doesn't seem like he does much at all in recruiting. That position should always have an elite recruiter.

Briles would not be bad either. I'd be happy with that hire too.

So true. If either of these guys coach football at LSU, how will my kids grow up to be good people?

This is such a dumb statement, or should I say a strong indication of someone who doesn't understand coaching.

Or you aware that Saban wasn't in our pool of potential candidates until he had his agent make contact? Guess you assume Saban was a drama queen way back then too. Many many coaching hires result from a coach getting his name added to a list.

I think the Rice job is too big for Canada at the moment.
