Is it too early to nominate a poster of the year. I nominate He Gone for sheer originality and trolling creativity...not to mention insightful commentary

Question is, is he a LSU, AU, or even Bama fan?

Huh?
Who says he cares about seeing his kids? Dude is a grinder. He went rounds with Stanford's administration a few years back because they pushed back on building a bathroom in his office -- he needed it because he was sleeping there and wanted a place to take a shower in the morning.
The guy is even more of a sociopath than Saban is.

Hell, if Texas wants Saban and Harbaugh wants back in college, maybe it wouldn't be a terrible investment long-term to let Saban go and Alabama get Harbaugh

That's not a bad idea at all - if Harbaugh was a realistic option (e.g., not currently NFL) there are some very good reasons to take him over Saban. I think you can make a case, purely on age, to take Harbaugh or David Shaw over Saban. Winning at Stanford ain't easy and they've done it.

That being said, I don't think Shaw or Harbaugh are realistic options

I believe he has young kids too, and college would offer better work/life balance.
I'm not sure if that's true. College coaches work like dogs too.

Do you think he would jump to Texas if offered?
For 8M, I think he'd consider it. All things equal, he'd stay in the NFL, IMO.

Agree on Harbaugh.
There's been some info from Texas' side that Shaw has declined to move from Stanford (maybe even twice) in response to queries from Texas (in the last few months). But there's also a thought that Shaw won't look or talk about any other job until there is an actual opening...which there still isn't but will be soon.

No way...college is much more difficult than NFL because of the constant recruiting.

I think he could, but not anytime soon.
