Jimbo was always a long shot. He has a great setup at atm and their boosters would match anything woody offers. It’s time lsu fans start familiarizing themselves with the aranda, Cristobal and Napier pool.

If Scott does agree and hires him to a big deal again, then it has to call into question every thing we believe about Scott.
He had made two great hires for our arguably number 6/7 sport and one that is 2/3 spot. However all that means nothing if you frick up the by far number 1 sport with a meh hire.

He would be a bad choice at any price. I don’t understand why anyone on here says a coach would be a good choice at different salaries. That’s crazy! Do we want to win titles, or not? He’s not going to coach better or worse because he’s paid more or less. As many have said before, “It’s not your money!”

I use to ride hard for Jimbo in 2015. I can’t ride with Jimbo any longer. Dave Aranda might very well be just what LSU needs. Plus Dave is a surgeon and the closest football brain to Saban

I think that Jimbo has involuntarily assumed the role in this coaching search that Bianco did in the baseball search. I say involuntarily because neither coach was a sure thing (far from it). It's not like Bianco was going to come to LSU and for damn sure not a sure thing that Jimbo even wants to consider it. But neither coach were 100% out of the question either. I think that if it came down to it and Scott is scrambling at his splash hire, that he could possibly get Jimbo here. But at this point, I don't want him. I did about a month ago. But the more I think about it, I'm with you.

Does he, though? These are his conference loss numbers for the past six seasons: 3, 5, 3, 4, 1 (COVID year), 3 (so far). That includes losses to a GT team that went 3-9, an 8-5 UNC team that finished the year unranked, an 8-5 State team, an 8-5 Auburn team that ended the year unranked, an Arkansas team that currently has 3 conference losses and struggled to beat a terrible LSU team, and a 3 loss State team that lost to LSU.
That's not an elite coach. That's a coach who is honestly a rung below 2010-2015 Les Miles.
