Saban hasn't lied publicly to anyone. He hasn't released any official statement. Statements in living rooms are not official.

the more important issue is that saban is off message during the height of the recruiting process. he had to field questions from recruits and coaches in the in-home visits.
bama's current crop is locked, but this AND his poor coaching performance in the iron bowl stops all the momentum he had in recruiting those 'on the fence' 5* guys.
