Just throwing this out there to show that elite QBs can make even the worst of coaches decent.

Well Myles Brennan better be one of the greatest QBs to ever live and we’ll be good to go.

So all LSU needs if a hall of fame once in a lifetime quarterback? Should be easy to procure.

Now don't you go a'hatin on Myles Brennan there, son. You might not be a "real tiger fan."

Bret Favre set the LSU football program back a decade. Were it not for Bret Favre playing pitch and catch with Louis Lipps against second rate defenses, we never would have heard of Curley Hallman.

Hey, the football gods owe us at that position eventually.

Will Myles Brennan also be playing against comepetition of the same caliber as late '80s Southern Miss?
If so, maybe THEN we'll be go to go.

Southern Miss beat #13 Alabama, #15 Auburn and #6 ranked Florida State when Favre was there.

Problem was that the powers that be at the time thought Hallman made Farve, when in fact Farve made Hallman. Definitely one of the worst hires in the history of the program.

I heard that Curly went on to get fired as a high school HC.

You heard right. He couldn't even cut it with HS. He should have stopped while he had a shred of dignity left

I know Favre led USM to some upsets, but do you really believe they played a tougher schedule than LSU does in the SEC West?

The '89 Southern Miss team upset #6 FSU in the season opener. They then proceeded to beat Tulane, Louisville, Memphis St and East Carolina to finish 5-6 for the year. Their losses were to Miss St, Auburn, TCU, Tx A&M, USL and Alabama. Is that a tougher schedule than LSU's typical schedule?

Agreed. Then again, Curley was far more qualified than Special Ed (The Worst HC Hire In LSU History.).

89 LSU would've PAID to go 4-7 against that schedule.
