Breaking News on possible new UVA Coach: Chris Petersen

Mac McDonald (former "Voice of the Cavaliers") said this on his show today. Claims he heard it from multiple sources.
He's been wrong before, but boy am I giddy about this.

This would be an interesting move for Petersen. I think some schools are skeptical about him based on Koetter's and Hawkins' performances after they left Boise State.

The two aren't the same. You don't expect a movie star to go into families' homes and convince them to let their son to effectively "work" for the movie star for 4 crucial years.

You're right. No matter how you cut it, it's a rumor.
But it's the first rumor coming from a somewhat reliable source on the radio. Plus, the 'out of nowhere' mention in Ivan's blog makes it somewhat more noteworthy than just 'any other rumor'.

Peterson would have a better chance for a BCS game at Boise. If he goes to UVA you will not hear from him again until he is fired.

They are UVA. When you are UVA you have to take a gamble. He'd be by far the biggest hire they could make.

Also forgot to mentioned that our assistant AD Jon Oliver is a BSU grad and apparently he and Petersen are friends.

No and still no! We've got at least 2 Ranters who live in Boise who attend the same non-denominational church every Sunday w/Petersen and his family.
Also, I wrote a piece about the program a year after the Okla. game and asked him that question. He laughed and said he had no idea who started that rumor, saying it was probably a Pac-10 recruiter.
