I will stick by my original thread of earlier today...

Gonzales will be the OC after the bowl....

Tolbert is not gone yet....

Tyke-We wanted him, he was worried the NFL would have a lockout or something pretty soon and he was a little worried about that so back to the NCAA ranks sounded good, I guess he had a change of heart

Crowton-I don't think is quite as for sure as I thought. Miles has definitely talked to possible candidates, but there is talk around LSU that it might be too expensive to buy him out at this point. That is out of Miles hand I believe. We will see what happens.

Tolbert isn't totally lost yet depending on the following......

Crowton has been encouraged to seek other opportunities as a HC...if he doesn't, he won't be fired this year...

Gonzales will be the OC within 12 months.

OC in waiting??? ok. But if tolbert does come here. He is one of the more respected coaches in the NFL. how would he feel playing under a current college reciever coach?

$1M buyout is not an obstacle. It is a smokscreen to throw people off IMHO.

we would need 2 hire a QB coach.... but none of this matters if Crowton stays... We will just have 2 wait til the end of next season and shop for a head coach along with an OC if crowton stays

If we are worried about a 1M buyout for Crowton, we sure arent going to jettison Miles for 10M buyout next year.

I read that Tyke maybe still in the works...apparently he wants his NFL pension...and Miles wants to start recruiting now...not after NFL season is over..

Those are the obstacles...but Miles wants him and he is an LSU alumni...with Gonza being brought on, I have no idea how this all fits

Im drunk as shite right now but it seems to me that Tolbert would be a great OC at LSU because LSU would be very successful offense in an NFL style offense. (i.e. run until they can stop you)... LSU's backs have always been very talented, and I feel that LSU hasnt tried to establish the run like they should. Is it still possible that Tolbert could be taking over Crowton's job as OC?

BP- you need to stop reading your press clippings from around here. This drivel was useless. If you don't have anything, don't say anything and your "legend" is safe with these fools.

BP's Take
I dont care who the OC is at LSU..Somehow someway the OC and the Head Coach has to be on the same page.. Its not only in the play calling and just personnel on the field..Even recruiting philosophy...We have too many kids on this roster fit for one scheme, and the other half fit for another..

Find a philosophy that works for u, hire a coordinator that will do it, and recruit towards it, enough of this stuff.

Please explain how LSU's roster is different from any in the country. Use SEC for example.
Don't just post on the internet in an attempt to demonstrate your football expertise.

I think the reaction is WAY overblown. I believe the offense will be much improved whether Crowton is OC or not.

You folks should take a deep breath and relax a little.

Too many flute players here! it's always easier to blame the OC.

we were basically dead last in offense

And if one year necessarily followed the other, LSU would have scored record points per game.

Its one bad year. One with a poor offensive line and a 19 y/o qb.

I'm not "happy" with Crowton. I'm just not out of my mind with doom and dismay.

Same here, most of the outrageous critics have more experience childishly changing avatars and sigs than they do with organized football.
If they are so outraged, why don't the march on the offices of the Athletic Dept.?
They could all stand up and tell how it was done back in their playing days.

Nah. Just a Democrat.

Yeah because good Republicans like Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck and Palin never pull shite out of thin air (i.e "fabricates fantastic shite").

You have to be a Democrat! Once again, was your coach perfect. Was it his play calling, poor execution,or lack of understanding by your QB that hurt your offense? A football expert such as yourself can easily answer these questions.
