They have both removed their names from OC and HC searches. They’re going to run it back with CJ. Big news for him.

This one is weird for me, why is johnson not taking an OC job? There are tons available

Sounds like Bobby decided to stay first with a new contract and nice pay raise. Then Jerrod decided to stay also with a new contract and raise. Per Ian Rapaport, he wants to finish what they started with CJ, and Houston is home.

I don’t know if Johnson had OC offers from other teams, but regarding the Saints OC job vs Texans QB Coach job, his options were:
A. Become a first-time OC for a lame duck HC with a mediocre old QB who’s on the downside of his career
-Or-
B. Remain QB coach in your hometown close to your family with an improving young team and a QB that has potential to be one of the league’s elite. Slide into the OC job if/when Slowik leaves next year, or at worst have a better pool of teams offering you their OC job in 2025.
I can’t say I blame him for choosing option B

Yeah basically the same approach the Bengals QB coach, Dan Pitcher, took the last couple of years. Turned down OC opportunities to keep working with Burrow with the promise that when Callahan got a HC job Pitcher would get the OC job.
