I find it hilarious people dogged Auburn for hiring a winning coach from Boise State, yet people melting over us not getting a sunbelt coach

Napier is going to be a great coach and he's a great fallback option for LSU. If he does go to Florida going to be a tough battle for us every year. You just simply can't offer a guy that without either you striking out big time on other guys or he's more proven. We can't take the risk of a super risky hire right now we need a homerun as close to the sure thing as we can get.

He is a risk for either LSU or Florida. If he goes to Florida, he may fail just like he may fail at LSU.
He isn’t the top candidate for LSU, for good reason. Why Florida would immediately dive head first at Napier, I don’t know.

I agree 100%. Just don’t see the reasoning behind freaking out about the Florida interest lol. As far as we know we haven’t had a confirmed strikeout yet

Not sure that’s even the case. Seems like the Napier team is spewing that to gain some interest elsewhere.

One of the great fallacies on TD is that the same people are posting everything.
It’s not hilarious at all other than for the small % that are the same ones posting inconsistent opinions.

They’re all risky, ser. They can all fail wherever they go. Look around the landscape and see the failures and the successes. None of Riley, Day, Smart & Swinney had prior P5 HC experience. Those worked out fine. Urban Meyer ascended much the same way. Butch Jones didn’t. For every failure, you can point out a success. For Riley, who are the comparable P5 HCs who recently jumped laterally and succeeded? Meyer. Tuberville. Harbaugh Stanford to Michigan? Franklin Vandy to PSU? Who else. Short list.

Fan expectations. UF doesn’t have this false premise of “the only qualified candidate is one with prior P5 HC experience”. That’s literally the only reason.
