Will Bill Johnson be a new permanent assistant coach for LSU?

Doubtful. Would expect Meatball to move back to DL and Bill to move to analyst. Unless Meatball coaches LB in the event the new DC coaches another position.

I have no idea what their plans are but I don't think Johnson would hang around as an analyst. He's done pretty well as an assistant in CFB and the NFL over the years so I don't think he needs the money. He also bought a house on a lake in Georgia with the intention of retiring last year when O called him.

Yes, Bill was basically retired. I seriously doubt O would get rid of a young recruiter to keep a guy who could hang it up at any time.

He still wants to put at least 2-3 years in at a high level like NFL or LSU. He had no retirement plans for this year, was still under contract from the Rams.

When he was on the radio the other day he sounded like he would be open to staying if O wanted him. He said they hadn't got to the point of discussing anything with everything that was going on.
