As a matter of a fact, you couldn't pay me enough to coach in Chicago with their crappy weather and all of the taxes they'd take from me

Who was offering you a coaching job?

Oh, and the Vegas fanbase (and the city that got suckered into building that cathedral to Davis insanity) were expecting to get a team that was supposed to be immediately competitive. Bought and paid for, but never delivered. No pressure there, right?

They won a pretty damn good game Sunday to make the playoffs.

The Bears were in the playoffs last year, it’s not like it’s been years for them.

That they did, I agree. But overall, the Raiders have vastly underperformed vs. the hype and promises made when they moved to Vegas.

And, about that game - they had to go to OT to beat a pretty mediocre Chargers team to get the 5th seed as a wildcard, and will likely get completely waxed by the Bengals in the first game.

I still stand by my original assertion: The Raiders, as an organization, are a nightmare of ineptitude, and I think it shows - in their drafting history, in their record over the last 5 years, and in the ongoing problems they can't seem to avoid with players and coaches.

Chicago may have the lesser roster, but they aren't owned and managed by incompetents like the Raiders are. Given the choice between the two (especially given the divisions the two teams play in), I'd take the Bears HC gig over the Raiders every day until Davis sells the team.

Just my opinion....

Doesn't this make the Raiders the better option?

If I'm hiring a good coach (or I'm a good coach looking to take a job), I want a team with pieces in place, that hasn't clicked yet.
I don't want to take the Saints offense over, look over the roster, and realize I need to find a QB, 2 WRs, a young power RB with skill. I want to walk in and find a team close to producing at a high level, that I can coach up.

I might agree if the reasons for the Raider's lack of success was simply a factor of talent or coaching. But it's not.

In my opinion, it's not lack of talent or poor coaching that's killing the raiders: it's the ineptitude of the head office and owner. That's not likely to change, regardless of who the coach is.

If Davis were to sell the team, and the entire front office given pink slips, then I might look at coaching in Vegas as an opportunity and not as diving into a dumpster fire after being soaked with gasoline...

This is a retarded take lol. Chicago might be the best pro sports city in the country. The city is legitimately obsessed with the Bears as there is no other competition. The Bears are the founding franchise of the NFL and one of the highest valued organizations in sports despite being horrible for 30 years.

You literally would be a god if you win here. Think Ditka, Jordan, Cubs etc.

Miami and Vegas are transplant cities and or relocation teams where half the population doesn’t give a shite.

Sounds like the front office is doing it's job, then?
