The Chicago Bears are expected to move on from head coach John Fox after Sunday's Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings and an early candidate for the job has emerged.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael is expected to be a head-coaching candidate for Chicago this offseason.

Carmichael does not strike me as a head coach at all

Never know, Payton just needed a shot I didn't think he was HC material either and look how that turned out. Maybe he just needs a shot he's been under Paytons wing long enough and really isn't needed here to call plays

Because Ryan Pace, former Assistant GM for the Saints, is the GM for the Bears.

Seems like a bad move. Bears have already failed twice going with nerdy offensive guys in Martz and Trestman.

There's nothing wrong with Fox. There offense has garbage talent.

I tend to agree. Everyone knew the Bears would be bad again this season, and they still improved their overall record with a rookie QB, a lack of talent and a bunch of guys on IR.

Just seems weird to target someone like Carmichael if they really want to move on from Fox now. It's hard to figure out what they're trying to do.

Dude fox is terrible. The Rams last year show you why you should move on from the old school retread for more innovative options, especially with a young QB.

Yeah, anyone who doesn't think Fox is shite hasn't watched the Bears this year.

Trubisky needs a coach that will give him a chance to succeed ala Goff with McVay.
