My brother in law is a bamafan. His comment was "He will win a few games but not any that matter"

What a bunch of weak reasons. What has he won? What did Nick, Leslie and Ed win before LSU?

Cultural fit? This isn't Riyadh. That's a bullshite line that is backed up by nothing.

Negative recruiting? Yeah, I'm sure Kelly totally can't handle that. Never seen it much less heard of it. What ever is he going to do?

I hope that author isn't getting paid for that lame dosage of self-salve. Bama's vaginas won't stop burnng with that.

“The negative recruiting is going to be fierce
I’m not sure that Kelly knows what he’s getting into, competing with the cutthroat recruiting in the south. The Big Ten famously had a “gentleman’s agreement” among coaches not to recruit players who had verbally committed until Urban Meyer got there. That idea would be laughable to the coaches in the SEC. You want to recruit here, you’d better be ready to get in the mud.”

This kid is ignorant

Kelly’s probably plays well in the living rooms of kids from moderately affluent families, whose kids are choosing between Notre Dame and Stanford. Does he have the chops to belly up to the dinner table with a southern Mama, have a second piece of cornbread (or bowl of gumbo) and make himself seem like one of the family?

That remains to be seen, but it seems like a stretch.

Yet Saban’s buttoned down, no nonsense personality is fine

I've seen Nick Saban in Scotlandville in Baton Rouge. I've seen Nick Saban recruit a Black kid in Slidell and do the Cupid Shuffle with the kid's family. By the way, Saban can dance. Saban can move with ease with the less affluent. Here's a link LINK

Saban wasn’t a cultural fit when he got here. He subsequently just won a lot. I’m sure he’s not a cultural fit at Alabama and yet all he does is win. He’s also 10 years older than Saban. I hate sites where fans masquerade as columnists because 90 percent of them don’t know their head from their arse.

But, Saban is from West Virginia. West Virginia isn't that different from the deep south. Now, an Irish guy from Massachusetts who is 60 and just moving to the deep south? That's going to be an awkward cultural fit.

Not at all. Has he never recruited black players at Cincinnati or Notre Dame?

This statement says all you need to know about the writer of that article.

Doubt it they’re worried about anything we do. Quit being a fanboy. They’re who they are. Nobody is making them “uncomfortable”. At least not yet.

as they should be.
Again, you guys always have to go back to this very basic fact: if Les Miles and coach O were able to win titles here, what is Kelly going to do?

Now obviously nothing is guaranteed, but those are very good odds.
