Baggage??? HIRE KENDAL BRILES!!!

The ONLY reason Briles, Jr. would not be the obvious choice is because it's been reported that Coach O would not hire someone with "baggage" and that Alleva wouldn't hire them even if Coach O recommended them.
That is SO ridiculous! What baggage does Kendal Briles bring??? A dad shrouded in controversy while at Baylor? There were rumors that Briles, Jr. told African American potential recruits there were white women at Baylor and they liked black men. Heaven forbid!
You want "baggage"? I would ask Coach O and Alleva to do some basic research on their OWN "baggage". Duke Lacrosse Rape Scandal ring a bell? "I AM THE SEARCH" ring a bell? Does 1991 as an assistant at Miami, "a permanent injunction of protection" granted to a woman by a Dade County court against Orgeron prohibiting "any act of domestic violence." Orgeron was ordered into a 26-week domestic violence counseling program" ring a bell?
Does 1992, still an assistant at Miami, arrested in a bar fight in Baton Rouge ring a bell?
It's my hope someone like Kendal Briles would be given an opportunity to coach at a great school like LSU. I certainly would hope that the "sins" of MY father would not keep ME from employment opportunities and being able to provide for my family. And, I don't think anyone else would either. That includes me, you and ANYONE else in the LSU Administration.

As long as we go outside O's sphere of friends and bring in someone with a track record of developing QBs and putting up solid offensive numbers, I'm good with it.

The ship has obviously sailed man. Hopefully they can get Gilbert. I can see where the admins are coming from on the Briles situation, but it still sucks that they can't hire who they want to hire over something that there's no proof he had anything to do with.

Baggage, is exactly what LSU needs at the coordinator spot.
If LSU could find an excellent offensive mind, who is tainted enough to not be offered head coaching jobs for at least a few years, it solves two major problems LSU has at once.
Briles/Freeze are the perfect choice, IMO. You have to sell it as a 2nd chance. You have to keep them out of the spotlight. Media shouldn't have access to them for at least a couple of years.
We all saw the challenges in keeping Aranda. Finding someone with baggage is a solution to that.

When you guys figure out that the end goal is to land Ensminger, youll be able to get over it much quicker. We will not make a competent hire with those who are currently calling the shots. We simply wont.
HOPEFULLY, we re-wrote O's buyout in exchange for letting him can Canada. But, I doubt we have competent negotiators.

Gilbert runs the same offense as Briles and actually has more experience as a play caller. He would be a good hire and there would be no reason to revolt over it. If they do hire Gilbert then it's a sign to me that they've finally realized we need to hire someone to install a Spread concept offense like the other 95% of modern football teams.

Sorry that you’re one of the fans that are ok with mediocrity. When you invest as much as some of the rest of us do with this university, especially within the athletic department, you can loathe our intense “suckfest”. Until then just sit in front of your television set on Saturdays and enjoy the show.
