Yes.
1. played at a big time SEC program so understands what players deal with.
2. Worked with the best organization in college football and understands the FOCUS, COMMITMENT, AND DRIVE it takes to COMPETE for CHAMPIONSHIPS.
3. Saban, Stoops, Carrol, Kelly, Cowher, Belichek, etc are not coming to AU

Yes, I'd rather have him than Gundy or Smart. Still rather have Petrino.

Why would you rather have him then Gundy or Strong? Both are proven head coaches. With Smart, you have no idea what you are getting. Especially when a lot of people believe Saban really runs that D.

some pluses and minuses. I have not been a fan of smart in the past. He is a lead recruiter for Bama, so thats a plus, however I have heard his tactics are not for everyone.

I agree with this ..Petrino is the best choice out there. Having said that, I wouldn't be disappointed if Smart succeeded Saban in a few years, so he may be a great hire for Auburn

Sure why not. The guy is a great recruiter and might even be a decent coach. Also, I want to read all the Bama fan chatter if he is hired...
