I hope I don't get in trouble here, but it was basically saying that Verge conceded Blake Baker if Kiffin came, so Kiffin could do an entire staff overhaul and LSU wanted to keep some of our same coaches on board.

You have details what the dude said?
I was wondering what happened to all of that… SIAP

I'll bullet point the facts.
- Lane has little to no interest in a ridiculous contract. He was actually sincere and extremely humble, but he absolutely defers to his agent on money matters.
- He wants LSU to be fully on board with him. He wants full range of movement with the portal. He is willing to take less pay to ensure this. And before you lose it, there is bad news. Verge was unable to promise him that. It sucks, but Verge is clearly answering to someone else here.
- Verge was completely up front about LSU courting others heavily and made it known to Lane they are not playing games. They didnt guve him a deadline, but it was heavily implied that LSU isnt willing to ride the bench forever.
LSU has 3 candidates. Lane is and knows he is the top candidate. Verge hasnt spoken with Drinkwitz at Missouri yet. But agents are talking. I can't speculate further, i just dont know.
Dillingham and Verge have spoken face to face 3 times. This was my companies assignment. It was kept extremely quiet and now that the embargo on this info is done, the important part is over.
The meetings are all but done, Verge believes he can pull the trigger on Dillingham the second Lane says no, if he says no.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different thread then

This was the other thread

The two got to the point where the last bones to pick were staff and Verge conceded Baker. Will be a complete staff overhaul.
Would also point out that LSU will go beyond last years NIL cap for 2026 with Lane, but they refuse to go higher without real results. Apparently there are still salary optimizations that can be done for higher NIL output, but the generous donors need to see their money isnt being burned away.

The search firm dude said Kiffin verbally agreed and was set to sign the MOU tomorrow
Who knows, but Chicken's behavior around it is certainly odd

All I remember is, during the 2021 coaching search, threads/posts that got a little too close were getting whacked. So someone getting disappeared overnight is wild.

This is a big statement here. I would think a decision wasn’t made yet. We will see if it turns out true.

Another thing is he probably wants the LSU or Florida job but the other part of him wants to coach his team through the playoffs. Will OM allow that? It is a really tough one here. Best of both worlds-finish your playoff run and then choose where you want to go. Just a bad timing for all teams involved.

Burning money is essentially the role of the donors/ boosters.....what are they receiving in a tangible sense for all of their NIL contributions?
I mean sure, Gordon gets to walk around sporting a big Woody but at 15 million a year for a new coach and 10 million a year for Kelly, is it a soft wood when you factor in the NIL commitments?

I don’t think most people on here with any lick of sense believes a damn word you say anymore!

So I happened to still have Tiger Tuesday's posts open on my computer this morning. Not sure why they'd get axed, but here they are: IMGUR LINK

Yes it does, and I understand OM and their situation. I do believe someone got pissed and leaked things to the media to force Lane's decision. Florida/LSU was willing to wait on him, but Ole Miss wanted to start their search if necessary. Don't see why they couldn't have reached out to agents to gage interest anyway. if someone else knowingly wanted the job, take care of everything on the low, let Lane coach with no outside distractions and when the season ended, go their separate ways. But the current recruiting calendar doesn't allow for it. Sucks for everyone.
