Aranda is gaining traction as a head coach if not at LSU

The guy has the demeanor and the tools to be a successful head coach somewhere if not at LSU. His ability to adapt to the opponent's offense is second to none. Yet, this is his first season at LSU.

Rising star for sure. I'd rather him than the vast majority of names mentioned on here. I think he's easily smart enough to recognize what kinds of offense are the most difficult to defend, which ones would compliment his defense, and who he could go get to run it.
But I'd always rather a defensive HC and pay top dollar for a great oc and let them control that side of the ball. With the way football is officiated now I think there are more good offensive minds than defensive ones.

Why would LSU let someone so young and dominating go though?
Doesnt make any sense. Invest in whats best for your football team!!!!

I hope USM ditches Hopson and goes after him.

Who says he wants it?

If he doesnt want it pay him very, very well to be DC. If he does want it interview him and see what he would do about offense and go from there.

The only knock on Arranda is the fact he has not been in this part of the country very long. I think his coaching will remain top notch; however, I would expect an immediate drop off. The decision of the Head Coach needs to be a long term decision which should put him close to the top.

Everyone is. But with good reason Alleva will only hire someone with HC experience. Also, there is no buyout for Aranda if hired for an HC gig which he will get either this season or next.

With all that he brings to the plate, I've not much at all about his recruiting ability & a HC has to be a stud recruiter.

We should keep Aranda for at least another year
