Kelly could turn a program like ND around. He has the personality and offense to thrive there.
but i dont think he could win national championships in the SEC. Too pass happy.
the Pitt team we are watching today is like a poor mans SEC team...the way they want to run the ball, the defensive backround of Wanny, etc...its taken a blown coverage and a big KO return to get them back into the game

Pretty much agree, but Wiess had a very good offense at ND. Wasn't the problem.

I know I said I was done but this would be a stance that I would agree with. Hes definitely not the best canidate for LSU as some would have you believe if there was any HC opening. However I woulda said the same thing about Urbans offense (I do think he had to modify it some) so hell I could be completely wrong.
Now Im done with this thread

Kelly makes me jizz when he talks. Dude just has it. I dont think Weiss had the attention to detail and personality to run a big program like ND

yeah, but if he came to lsu, you better believe he would be getting a top notch DC. he would stay out of the way of the defense, and just let them do their thing

whatever, Cincy would have handed it to lsu this year, and texas tech was pretty good last year, just think of what those coaches could do at big time school
How is cincy not a big time school? Big east, and has some of most expensive newest buildings on any college campus today. It is also located in the 24th most populated city in the country.

shows you how much i know, i said the exact thing about Urban's offense. But Im curious to see how it functions without Tim Tebow.
I dont think its going to be anywhere near as potent with other QB's running the show.
Then again, they really arent comparable. At this point under Urban at FL, they have been much more run oriented than Brian Kelly's offenses, which is what works in the SEC.

Probably not. Wiess believed his own hype.

do u really think kelley isnt smart enough to change his offense if he had too? The guy is a winner and has won everywhere he has been. If he goes to any big time program, he will hire a top notch DC and turn that side over to him and concentrate on the offense and the little things that make a big time program run.
And BK's offense is based on vertical routes. These work well in the SEC. In fact his whole offense is north and south based which is the best type to run in the SEC because of the speed.
Many said that Urban's offense wouldn't work either, same with SOS back in the day, same thing many said of Paul Johnson and his Offense when he went to GT. In all cases the coaches made a few adjustments and have put up huge numbers.

if we ran vertical routes the past couple of years we would be averaging over 40 points per game

I'd take him every day of the week. The guy is a winner and coaches with the style that I enjoy.
Posted on 12/5/09 at 2:33 pm to LSUSUPERSTAR
anybody not want a coach who can engineer a drive of 60 yards in about 60 seconds for a win?
Posted on 12/5/09 at 2:33 pm to Ron Mexico
its not all verticals but they break off the routes and so everything looks like its vertical and it gets the db on their heels. Read This

even if pitt scores here, how much of a dumbass does the OP look like right now.
