re: Any other LSU fans think Saban to Texas is not a good thing for LSU?

Yeah, but with the playoff system, it's reasonable to speculate the road to an National Championship would likely go through Saban often.
sure but that would be at the end of the season in the semi-finals or finals

LSU gets a lot of Texas recruits, and with Texas being down right now, it's certainly helps you don't think if Saban brought Texas back to winning, that LSU's Texas recruiting would suffer?
Texas is reeling in blue chip classes now. Mack's problem isn't recruiting, it's what they do after they get on campus. For every elite level athlete the Longhorns sign, there are a dozen more available to go elsewhere. There are just too many great recruits in Texas to worry about this.

Get Saban out of the SEC WEST. Don't care if he's at texas. Don't want to play him every year unless its for National Championships...

It would make all of the SEC a little bit weaker

Saban has built as solid a foundation of a program possible here at LSU and at Alabama. Yeah, some dickhead hire could frick it up but I think it's more likely Alabama will continue to be a premier program post Saban.
Both scenarios are possible. I do think recruiting would suffer this season. Yes Bama would still have an awesome class, but you would have some de-commits, which would make their class mortal, but still very solid.
A good bit of Bama's recruits now are attracted for one reason, they win at an unprecedented level. Bama has world class facilities and staff, but winning is still the best recruiting tool by far. Just like ND back in the glory days, they got everyone because they won more than anyone else. Kids who aren't "fans" of bama, and may even be fans of other programs will pick bama because they know every year they will be the favorite to win the whole shooting match.

I'll grant you it's better from a straight on-the-field competition advantage point of view we wouldn't play Saban in the regular season.
It also eliminates the potential for having to play him twice in a season, also a positive.
So, this is where I concede that Saban to Texas is a net win for LSU regardless of the potential recruiting fallout.

ALabama will crash back to earth. You remember Alabama from say 1995 - 2007?

The same could be said of LSU and the 80s/90s

It can't be worse. Also most of the recruits LSU pulls from Texas are Houston area guys that already have connections to Louisiana. We will still compete for those guys even if Saban's at UT.

Exactly
This is a rare year that LSU will get more than one or two players from Texas.

I say it helps Oklahoma and other Texas schools. Saban will still recruit LA and BAMA schools hard because of the relations he has built there leaving a ton of Texas talent up for grabs.

Saban leaving the SEC for another major conference weakens the SEC and strengthens the new conference. That directly affects all SEC teams.
Alabama is a storied program that will compete for recruits even after Saban leaves. Saban at UT will bring more competition for Texas recruits including those with ties to LSU.

playing devils advocate though LSU would be in the worst position because he'd still recruit La and lock down Tx

Maybe so, but you may want to keep in the back of your mind of the success, or the lack thereof, of recent Saban disciples.
I think though that Kirby is the most prepared of all disciples, like I said he is getting the lions share of the responsibilities delegated to him

It would hurt our Texas recruiting, but to would really affect the Aggies

It would be somewhat of a trade off. Bama would slowly stop getting top notch LA kids, but then we may not be able to get so many studs from Texas like we do now.
Texas can't stop LSU from winning the SECW and the SEC.
