He is waiting for the NFL. Those jobs won't open until the end of the season in 4 weeks and Miami can't wait that long to get a coach because it would severely handcuff them in recruiting. They would pretty much lose this years class and they can't do that because it would put them in a serious hole.

Call me crazy but I think MSU will be able to find someone down the line to manage a winning percentage that's barely over .500

Dan Mullen has accepted and will not coach MSU bowl game. Said he wanted to go ahead and start recruiting to build up a national title contender.

Croom was 21-38 in 5 years and wan 10-30 in the SEC Race had NOTHING to do with him being a bad head football coach in the SEC.

FWIW Mullen is 13-11 in his two years and 7-9 in the SEC.

One that is VERY close to the program (MSU).
Apparently Joe Lee Dunn, Mike Archer, and Houston Nutt have already expressed interest in anticipation of the move.

.

So Sly Croom being a shitty coach makes Dan Mullen the greatest coach EVER? Exaggerate much? State will be able to go .500 over a two year stretch somewhere down the line

Im not exaggerating at all. Dan Mullen currently has the highest winning percentage of any Head Football Coach in Mississippi State history.

It's a two year sample. If he can stay around long enough and continue to improve each year then I will be more inclined to agree with the best coach ever comment.

Honestly, WHO would we EVER get to come to Starkville that could do a better job than Coach Mullen???

Remember we are Mississippi State, and YES he is the Best Coach EVER to coach football at our school IMHO.

I can't predict the future, but I think it's a bit absurd to believe that MSU would be incapable of achieving .500 over a two year period ever in your future again
