This was one of the rumors from last year, that it was all a sexton trick to get a raise. The fact that Jimbo is back in Lsu's sights proves it was not a ploy and there was at least some interest last year before it all blew up. They wouldn't be trying again if they got played last year. It's looking like jimbo reslly was coming before king pulled the rug out from under the deal at the last minute.

Any chance that saban is telling his agent jimmy sexton to screw lsu over by making lsu think jimbo is interested.

Don't think so. Everybody said this last year, but after all that, Jimbo did not get a raise or extension from FSU. Hard to troll or play a school if you don't get your guy a raise. Think this is genuine interest on Jimbo's part. It may not work out, but I think he's interested.
ETA. Of course, it's also about money too. His genuine interest must align with a pay day.

These are the rules of engagement. Sexton is looking out for his client and trying to get the best deal for him. I am encouraged because we already did this last year with Fisher. There is likely real interest so LSU needs to do everything they can to close the deal. Years later after the fact the details usually come out and these decisions aren't easy. Keep the full court press on Jimbo and show him how bad he is wanted and hope for the best.

Yes there is a very good chance of that. How many raises has he gotten for Saban by trolling Texas? If this happens and if Herman goes to Texas, who is next in line? Like it or not I would say Orgeron.

It is definitely in Saban's (thus Sexton) best interest to have a weak coach at LSU. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
