McCarthy didn't do a good job with the receivers. Tolliver and Lafell dropped passes all year long. There issue is concentration, not ability. Tolliver runs sloppy routes which is a coaching issue also. The recruiting scandal was a reason to let him go.

What is strange is that Miles doesn't fire coaches, yet he was forced to resign.

Right now the Anti-Miles crowd is using this as another reason to bash Miles and show what a horrible coach / person he is.

Actually there's been basically no Miles bashing over this.

There were questions raised when no one knew what the frick was going on but that's standard

The bashers will not wait for the end of the investigation. Nor will they issue any apology even if one is deservred.

The investigation essentially was over before we even knew of

quote:

Right now in their minds, Miles let McCarthy run wild. If it comes out that is was a very minor offense, they will just change their tune to Miles is an a-hole for letting McCarthy go.

You really have an obsession with Miles detractors don't you Coach M.?

As an Alum of LSU and as proud as I was that LSU had gone so long without being investigated by the NCAA (still pending I know) I'm very angry with his decisions. If you have to resort to cheating to do your job then you aren't very good at it and should be replaced with someone competent.

LSU's investigation determined McCarthy only committed a few minor violations regarding illegal contact with recruits similar to ones committed by Peveto last year. Then they threw him under the bus and forced him to resign. LSU lost a great coach and recruiter who will most likely be coaching in the NFL next season.

I see you signed up D.J. congrats on joining Tigerdroppings. If your going to be pissed be pissed at yourself. Your the one who fricked up not LSU.

They are used to the Army Brat life but it sucks. You know how much fun the neighborhood is for all the kids. I just hope they can find somewhere the kids will enjoy as much. I have yet to hear of any developments as to where they might go. He is having fun spending time with the kids and family. God always has a plan.

You're right, God always has a plan. I'm sure they will land on their feet..

How's the new neighbors? We will be by there probably by the end of the year to drop off some paperwork to them and to pick up some stuff that we left there. We'll try to stop by, if yall are home. I'm sure the son will be knocking on your door when we go. He's always talking bout ur kids..

lining up wrong

This is the thing that drives me crazy. Its really clear there is something wrong with the coaching scheme if you are continually having to waste time outs because senior and junior level players do not know where to line up.

You are talking about a junior college transfer from california. Not some some dude living on the streets. He is getting paid for not even having to work rt now. He is not that great of a coach, good recruiter, but porter>mccarthy. And that is who we will miss, but wilson seems to be doing nicely. I know scum bags that go to church and have a wife and children.

So do Priests, and we all know how much some of them "love" children.

Going to church does not always = good character

First of all, is the investigation even complete? I hadn't seen any news of the sort.

Secondly, Louisiana is an "employ at will" state which means that you can be let go for no reason whatsever.

McCarthy is not a good WR coach and any coach that does anything sideways on recruiting needs to go immediately. Recruiting violations are the one unforgivable sin. From my view, violators need to be suspended from college ball for a time.
