This sounds like a SID product all the way; PR 101. If the theories/rumors are true that LSU is looking for Stud and/or Crowton to land other gigs post-Bowl game, what else would the SID want them to "say"? Trying to keep up apearances for recruiting, most likely. I'm telling you both may remain with LSU but it won't be because they are quoted in this article.

I AGREE 100%. Don't think Crowton will return after bowl game.

title of passing game coordinator is something new for Miles' staff.

Todd Monken?

From LSUsports.net bio:

quote:

Todd Monken, a 16-year coaching veteran with expertise in all phases of the passing game, enters his second season at LSU as the Tigers’ passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach.

I question the journalistic veracity of the article. Lazy reporting

but Miles said offensive preparations for the LSU's game against Penn State in the Capital One Bowl will he handled by Crowton, Porter and Studrawa..

Maybe the reason they aren't out recruiting is that they're gone after the bowls and miles didn't want them lying to recruits about staying.

one thing Jimbo was good at teaching. Thought it was funny when he went to FSU the dbs were getting in fights in practice because they weren't used to getting hit.

Didn't we average over 31 points per game last season with a QB that the lion's share of LSU fans hated?

Yes, we did, but please note that Crowton's offenses historically are riddled with issues after his first year everywhere he's been this past decade. Even at Oregon they scored lots of points in 2006, yet had enormous turnover problems that killed the TEAM.

The point is with him its either points/yards being average and have lots of turnovers or low turnovers/low yard/low points.

That's been his MO, and it won't change. Furthermore, I've never EVER seen a QB that he has developed at all in his career outside of Tim Rattay which was over a decade ago.

That compounded with our continually weakening OL due to Studs "Earl Lane" approach to coaching is only going to make it worse with losing two vets.
