Rossi would definitely fall in the up & comer category. He doesn't have a wealth of experience, but I keep thinking there has to be a reason he was promoted so fast.
My thought on that particular "model" is I'd rather get somebody who has alot of experience as a position coach and give them a shot at coordinator.
However, Rossi would be the "Aranda model", when he went from Hawaii to Utah St. It's similar to getting Aranda before he hit Wisky.
Just to be clear, I have significant doubts it would be Rossi. For all we know he requested an interview; if that's the case I'm all for that.

Wooohoooo instead of 6 passing TD’s a game we’re switching it to rushing... or we could roll with the DB coach who's unit has been one I love to face in fantasy! Always a guarantee big day for my guys.... I’m not sure in what world anyone thinks someone from that staff could be our DC but frick you if so

Why does it matter if he is a db or lb or dl coach. I like a sh coach who can work with Raymond and free the dc up to take care of the dc responsibilities. We have 2 more coaches to hire after a dc. And that would be dedicated lber and dl coaches.
I think with a dc who is a safety coach you will see less confusion in the db room.
I think db is where you want to double up as it is the position with the most players.
