I think he's found his niche just like John Chavis will probably finish his career at LSU (hopefully)

again, he's usually pretty reliable....if he's wrong, it'd be the exception & not the rule. supposedly, a coaching shakeup at VT is not out of the question at season's end, and it wouldn't just stop with beamer....

So you are saying Spurier is just going to continue coaching until he gets canned and muschamp will get hired at a top program as HC before that happens? Ummm no.

If he couldn't win at UF with their talent he isn't going to win at SC, if he made it to HC after waiting. The only selling point SC has is that they play in a weaker division and that is offset by having less talent.

Two of the most over rated coaches in football. It's amazing these guys are still at tech.

They play in the same division as UF.....where he couldn't win with MUCH MORE talent. So how is this a selling point again?

I'm talking about compared to if he went Auburn or A&M. He would be in a weaker division if he went to SC but he likely wouldn't have as much talent.

Sucks we only offered $1.5 MIL. Being cheap is going to fail, we should have offered him over 2 MIL.

Count me as a person who thinks his decision will come down to Auburn or South Carolina. Auburn is the best job if all things are equal, but South Carolina can offer something Auburn cant in another chance to become head coach. I will be stunned if he goes to A&M. Auburn has playing for and winning a recent national championship to sell. About the only thing A&M has to sell is being part of a weird cult

Boom needs to learn an effective offensive strategy. That's what killed him at UF. He can do that at AU. This move is not about money or position, but rebranding his career. AU is the best place for that. Who knows what happens three years from now. Gus might be coaching for the Jets or Eagles.

He can do that at South Carolina also. Spurrier's offense is better suited for Will's defensive schemes. Familiarity with Spurrier gives the edge to SC. IMO that is.

A&M fans keep talking about all this money they have to throw around, but I just read something from JC Shurburtt on 247 sports claiming Auburn has already offered Muschamp over 2 million dollars per year

Exactly. $1.5 million if true was a low ball and would upset me. Hopefully rejection brings a reality check to our AD so the next guy on our list gets a blank check.

I highly doubt this.

If we were talking about hundreds of millions of dollars, A&M would likely be more capable of coming up with that type of money. You are talking about a much smaller amount of money for an assistant coach. Auburn could and likely would match anything A&M offered to Muschamp

I don't. It would probably be worth every penny. Even if he gets paid that, Gus + Boom + Lashlee still doesn't equal the pay of just Saban.

But most importantly he can do that at A&M for more money
