Why fire a coach unless you're sure to get an upgrade?

If we miss on Muschamp and Pelini then we'll probably stick with Ward, and even if we land Muschamp or Pelini I think Spurrier is gonna suggest they try to keep Ward on their staff

I think a lot of Auburn fans are desperate for Muschamp. Who knows about the people actually running the athletic department. Auburn also just invested 26 or 27 million into Malzahn last year, and most insiders seem to think they are going to invest a lot of money into the facilities in the very near future

Not saying I agree with the moves one way or the other, just pointing out that A&M and Auburn have had lame duck DC's for about as long as Muschamp has been on his way out at Florida. That's part of my reasoning for thinking those two schools have the lead on others in the race. Just my opinion though.
