What about Chris Klenakis? Great track record of big production. Not crazy about the pistol all the time, but it gets it done every now and then. Va tech keiland Williams!

Did not have time to read the entire thread but I really like the idea of hiring Fuente.

Pete CarMichael! Hells Yes to that. Can we realistically get him? Well...
I predicted Les would go to Michigan.
I predicted Crowton for be back next year.
What the heck, I predict LSU can't get Pete CarMichael. Let the streak continue...

Removed David Shaw and added Doug Nussmeier and Ralph Friedgen.

excellent list OBUDan...
how about these guys too?
Nolan Cromwell, WRs Coach St. Louis Rams
Was Texas A&M's OC last year, when they ranked #5 in total offense. Since he left, they are ranked #17 this year. He has experience coaching mobile quarterbacks. He coached three Super Bowl offenses under Mike Holmgren (2 with Green Bay, 1 with Seattle). They're not exactly Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, but Danario Alexander and Danny Amendola have really emerged this season under Cromwell.
Kevin Montgomery, OC Baylor
Baylor's ranked #10 in total offense this year, somewhat out of nowhere. He was Co-OC/RB coach/QB coach for most of Houston's prolific offenses in the early-mid-2000s. Developed Kevin Kolb and Robert Griffin.
Danny Langsdorf, OC and QBs Coach Oregon State
Was an assistant coach for the Saints from 02-04. "Langsdorf coached in the Canadian Football League and for the New Orleans Saints before coming to Oregon State. He became the offensive coordinator in 2004, and Oregon State has ranked in the top 10 in the nation for passing yardage each season since."
Al Borges, OC San Diego State
You know the deal from when he was at Auburn. Worth noting that the Aztecs are ranked #25 in total offense this year, up from #99 the year before he got there.
Blake Anderson, OC and QBs Coach Southern Miss
Somewhat of a darkhorse, but I really like this guy. He has led So. Miss to some very successful offensive seasons the last three years. This year, they are ranked #15 in total offense (that's between #14 Stanford and #16 Texas Tech, to give you perspective). He was also QBs Coach and OC for UL-Lafayette in 2007, when they set a bunch of Sun Belt offensive records. Was Co-OC for Middle Tennessee before that, and led the Sun Belt in scoring offense during his time there.

I maybe should add him.

Need to add him.

I'm not sure if he's realistic or not... not sure he'd leave Oregon State... but I'll add him.

Al Borges, OC San Diego State
Had him, but he's going to Michigan, so no longer an option.

Good guy to look at, under Fedora's tutelage.
I'll add your guys later today

I don't think he's realistic... I'm not sure anyone would leave an NFL OC gig to be a college OC... a college HC...sure... I know he doesn't call the plays... but I'd say it's more likely he'd leave the Saints and go to another NFL team as an OC before going to college.

We are seeing it this year though...two florida schools got NFL guys to be their OC...

Sweet. Thanks for doing such solid research.

I love the Badgers but I would lean towards someone other than Chryst. Against TCU in the Rose Bowl the Wisconsin offense looked like they had never seen a blitz.
yaeh, frick no to any Wisc offensive coach. They run the ball way too much. like 2:1

Weis and who else?
Weis was getting canned from KC... that's why he left there. Others say he also wants to try the college game again...

Carmichael would be awesome. But he would never come here. His next step is NFL OC. He has already been offered several jobs.

It's funny that people routinely bash Les for "big 10 ball" but want to hire Chryst.

Jedd Fisch in Seattle is heading to Miami
Posted on 1/13/11 at 12:31 pm to Lester Earl
Whoever the hire is will have to have offtackle dive in his playbook, and be prepared to use it

Ahhh, didn't see that.

Ralph Friedgen would be great. I went to b-school at UMD and lived in the DC area before moving back. He is a great playcaller and can def develop QBs. Not the best recruiter, but we got that covered. Pro style offense. Run the ball, use play action to throw the ball down the field, mix in a few screens...

What about Marty Mornhinweg?
