is James Franklin. A lot of people have said he really wants out of Penn State. Was in the SEC and good at Vandy of all places. I wonder if the Steele talk could be cover for this?

When something happens within the Auburn program that would require law enforcement officers to question players, how adamant would you say those LEOs are about talking to players?

That seems to be a big factor in James Franklin's desire to coach somewhere.

What has he done that indicates he has any clue about coaching?

You would rather have a coach who went 1-31 against the Big 12 than a coach who has been to the Rose Bowl and won 18 games in two years at Vandy?

Why?

Franklin's got a little bit of a tarnished rep from what I was hearing. issues with staff and players revolting like we heard with our team earlier this year

He had Vanderbilt ranked and winning 9 games. Has won 11 games 3 times at Penn State including a Big 10 championship. All this is even more impressive considering the state the program was in when he took over...

Franklin is a con-man. All talk, he’s a more expensive PJ Fleck.

O'Brian brought a ton of talent in. I am tired of rewarding coaches who have not proven they know how to build rosters. Franklin should be hitting his stride this year. He is failing.

I could get not being a fan of Franklin but this is a strange reason to not be, who built the back to back 2-10 Vandy teams for him before he got there

He finished 4th in the east. You act like he won a championship at Vandy. PSU is a terrible team. What makes anyone think he can do better at AU?

Franklin is in his 7th year, and he just had another top 10 finish and NY6 win last year.

Are you suggesting Bill O'Brien is responsible for that?

No, I act like he won 9 games back to back at Vandy after taking up for a team that won four games in two years before he got there.

And that second year in which he was fourth, the top 3 teams in the east were all top 10.

This year for sure but its been a strange year. I will take more weight for the three times he won 11 games in the previous four years.

My main point is your logic doesn't make any sense regarding Franklin and you said this which is crazy

I’d welcome Franklin. He’s not my #1 but I wouldn’t be mad at it.

I’m not advocating for Franklin, just thought we might hear his name come up. He would be much better than Steele.

2019 wins: Idaho, Buffalo, Pitt, Maryland, Purdue, bad Michigan State, Indiana, Rutgers

2018: App State, Pitt, Kent State, Illinois, Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland

2017: Akron, Pitt, Georgia St, Indiana, Northwestern, Rutgers, Nebraska, Maryland

Of Franklin's 31 wins in the last 3 years, 23 were complete dogshit.

That is some hyperbole but regardless, part of being a good head coach is being the bad/meh teams on your schedule.

I'm not even a Franklin fan but just disputing the point about him not having a clue about coaching
