So I guess they whole if he wins the last 2 games he might be safe was bs. And his wife was just crying because they lost and not that she and her husband now know it's over? I'm not doubting you have a friend that is a booster, I'm doubting that Strong was told 2 weeks ago that he was fired at end of season. Sorry it just doesn't add up.

Either way here's to us finding the right coach : :

That is the KEY!! We can both agree with that.

Look I am not privileged to any of the conversations that go on with my friend and anyone he talks with at UT. But I do know this when my friend told me the news Strong's tone and demeanor in all press conferences during the week and after games "even the few he won" was completely different than prior to the OU game. To me it gave a lot of credence to what I was being told. Did he lie to me? Never has before and his info had NEVER been wrong, so there is no reason for me not to believe what he told me. Now you don't have to believe him, and obviously you don't, but I do. I wish he was wrong I want Herman at LSU 10x's more than I want Fisher at LSU.

How about multiple similar calls on 4 goal line possessions?

I think there's like a 20% chance we end up losing Oeaux & Aranda but only if we hire Jimbo and Herman goes to Texas. Gotta believe Aranda is Herman's first phone call.

I don't think Aranda leaves after only 1 year though.

Or maybe Aranda can convince Herman to come here as HC?

They are friends.

It usually works the other way around, but hell a fella can wish can't he. Won't happen though, just a pipe dream.

I believe one option could be have O for another year and then Aranda to Head coach if that makes him comfortable.

Are you smoking f*cking crack? And that is a serious question also.

In what make believe world do you live in where we can have Coach Oeaux as our HC for another year and then give the job to Aranda after that? Please just answer that question for me.

Keeping Aranda is why this timeline needed to move quickly. It's why the last six weeks needed to be taken advantage of and an agreement being as close to being done as possible by now.

It sure looks like that isn't the case. It looks like Jimbo has been the target...but there is no confidence that Jimbo is ready to say yes...or that the conversations have gone far enough to figure that out.

Lol no reason to melt until something happens.

They are probably receiving interest from parties we wouldn't even think of.

Yep but coaching searches are like recruiting, nothing is finalized until things are signed on the dotted line!!!

My guess is the gap between where we are now and the dotted line is substantial. This won't be a "the deal was done...but it changed at the last minute" deal. This will be a "We slow played the process, were willing to push the timeline to the end of the season to see how things played out, and by the time they played out found ourselves in a losing situation with respect to our top targets."

I don't think Notre Dame is an elite school anymore, kind of like Nebraska. Florida? No, not a top school...

All I know is O still sounds better than taking a chance on someone like Fedora. But as I have said before, let's just hope Alleva has been doing his homework since Miles was canned. Still don't know why they kept Miles' arse after last season- at the very least they should have forced him to hire a new OC, but the dumb arse convinced the administration changes were coming, so we lost the best chance at Fisher.

Yep I agree with you about how this played out! I think Alleva gambled that we were going to have our pick between Herman and Fisher and play the two against each other and we lost because he didn't figure on Strong sh*tting the bed and UT being in this race which f*cked up his master plan!

I think Alleva had decided he could fall back on Orgeron. Yesterday was a bad day for Alleva. All of the support for Orgeron is gone...and the Florida fiasco, which was seen as an uncommon win for Alleva, blew up in his face.

It's a huge failure to be a square 1 on this search at this stage. Unfortunately, I think that's pretty much where we are. Now, it's going to take a huge offer to get Fisher or Herman...and there is no guarantee that the huge offer even works out.

Pretty much seems to be the case, but I also think Alleva is playing it close to the vest this time because of what happened last year. So I honestly believe no one really knows what is going on and that is probably the right way to handle it right now!

If Alleva fricks up this hire, find out that good ole boy LSU politics reared its ugly head and we lose Aranda also, I would renounce myself as a fan of LSU. Will not endure another 90's shite show because of a shitty weak dick administration. I have another alma Mater, Texas. I hope Alleva can deliver.
