Been reading TD for years but never set up a profile until now. So downvote away for me making my virgin post as a conspiracy theory.

Has anyone else had the feeling that perhaps Orgeron could be getting played by Kiffin and Alabama in general? I imagine a possible scenario where Kiffin tells O he is on board, on the down low. O buys in, makes offer to Tua, one of Kiffin's prime targets. This effectively sabotages LSU's shot at Brennan. Kiffin ends up with a HC job elsewhere, leaving O in the cold. All the while, Saban and Bama are working the back channels to bring one or both of the Briles' to Alabama, along with Stidham. Sure, the national pundits would blast LSU for even the thought of hiring a Briles... But Alabama, nay Saban, would be praised and heralded for bringing brilliant offensive minds on board and "giving them their deserved second chance". And nobody would bat an eye at it because almighty Nicky runs such an allegedly tight ship that nobody would think that any Briles would dare step out of line.

This would be a huge black eye on top of an already black eye for LSU. I can honestly see this playing out and nobody being able to do anything about it. I don't want to see a Saban defense with ANY Briles as the OC. They could have the best defense and best offense in college football history, simultaneously. And I haven't even heard any rumors of this, but if it happens, Alabama wouldn't be beatable at all for many years to come.

Briles at Bama would be less scrutinized than if he was hired anywhere else, sure.

Nice first post, but learn how to use paragraphs.

Saban was able to revitalize Kiffin when nobody wanted would touch him. He is on the same road with Sark. BUT Briles is still way to nuclear to touch, even for Saban.

Bama is the only school that could hire Briles with little to no resistance. Sucks, but true.

Really didn't expect a single upvote. And yeah, maybe I am indeed an idiot. But just the thought of my post coming to fruition is sickening and scary.

I don't believe kiffin was playing lsu. O understood that if he get the right HC opportunity their deal would be off.

I have not heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. I raised my eyebrows when Nick brought him in as a consultant. I guess Nick is where coaches go to try and revitalize their careers.

I think its a bit of a reach because Lane and CEO are actually very good friends. I don't think their relationship is strictly business. But hey add an extra layer, maybe Satan had Lane agree to do this and Satan would advocate on behalf of Lane to get a head coaching gig ala UH.

First part of your topic is something I have thought about. But the Briles part on down is a bit much.

No Kiffin was the answer. He was then offered a Hc job at Houston. That's a great job for a rising HC with a hotbed of talent.
