i'm still all in. told the wife that the night of the 17th is blocked off for this.

and i'm going to repeat this for the threefiddyish time... the fact that modern day screen writers felt that a dude in the 90s writing a book that had racial representation, interracial relationships, homosexual relationships, polyamory, and the matriarchy running the world needed to be improved upon with today's culture is the most self mastabatory thing i've ever seen.

I kind of hope we get primarily Moiraine focus and a lot of Logain as they have the most experienced and best actors I think thus far. Let the younger actors get their feet under them and grow into the role a bit - probably will only have Moiraine until first part of Season 4 at the latest.

But Egwene and Nyn will be on equal footing screen time with the boys I think - will have more of a presence in the early books and will be presented initially as more of the main characters they grow into later in the series.

Curious to see what goes on with Matt, if they scaled back some of his scenes since we will have a new actor in Season 2.

Amazon seems fully committed to this series.

Already renewed for Season 3

They must really be liking the feedback early screenings and what they have seen from Season 2 shoots thus far.

Season 1 is going to be absolutely packed with action, I'm really excited. My general idea of how the episodes may be laid out is this.

Episode 1 - up through Winternight

Episode 2 - Chase out of Emond's Field and Taren Ferry stuff

Episode 3 - More chasing, wall of fire stuff, training / one power introductions up through Shadar Logoth.

Episode 4 - Perrin / Egwene w/ tinkers - wolf introduction? combination of towns on Rand / Matt journey in the new town called Breen's Spring thom/fade attack. Logain Stuff maybe gets introduced here.

Episode 5 - I'm guessing perrin / egwene white cloak stuff is here, or at least the resolutionnd their escape or something. Probably more logain stuff, making way to tar valon for everyone to meet up.

Episode 6 - Some tar volon stuff here probably have the Logain laughing in the cage scene an then traveling the way's / getting to tar valon

Episode 7 - Fal Dara, big Tarwin's gap battle - not sure how they end up handling the end of EotW but I bet the follow the Game of Thrones stuff, where there is usually the big battle in 2nd to last episode and final episode does some wrap up action and sets up final season conflict.

Episode 8 - I'm guessing we get the first chapter or two from Great Hunt here, the big meeting between Rand, Moiraine, Verin, Siuan and then the theft of the horn to set up Season 2.

I may have moved a bit too quickly but I think that is generally the kind of pacing we will see in the show. Lots of pretty awesome action throughout, especially with the expanded Logain storyline.

It also seems based on some casting leaks for Season 1 that we are going to get some Winter Dragon style flashbacks at some point to the age of legends and the breaking.

I also wonder if this has to do with Rosamund - they will be shooting immediately after Season 3. She is a big name actress and so they may want to go ahead and get as much of her stuff knocked out before other obligations start coming in to play.

I just finished a re-read and I thought at the time that it would probably be a great idea to at least get some establishing shots for Morain's return in A Memory of Light as soon as possible just in case. Even though, if they make it to the final season, just the chapter "The Last Battle" will need to be 3 or four episodes long.

Ya, I'm really curious how they will handle all that. You have sort of the initial defense and fall of various cities, the shite at Maradon, etc. - maybe do that stuff opening half. Have them regroup and then final few episodes just have the last battle.

But they will need to have some way to sort of pace it out so the action isn't just at a 10 the entire time. They have to have some breathing point moments or it will be hard to keep the intense feel up for so long.

There a moments in that chapter where Rand and the Dark One are showing each other their visions for the future in the pattern if I'm not mistaken. Those moments kind of work to help the pacing a bit.

Ya, and some more people will need to die I think. I liked Sanderson and thought he did a good job with the finish but felt like more of our favorites would have ended up dead in the final battle.

Yeah. Egwene was a biggie, Lan's moment was perfect so no need to take him out, Faile would be a good candidate, Gareth Bryn's death happed "off screen" after Siuan died. If they showed that it would have more impact.

Speaking of warders going apeshit when their Aies Sedai died, it would be interesting to have an Asha'man/Aes Sedai couple that are double bonded like Androl and Pevara where he Asha'man dies and the Aes Sedai loses her shite and goes nuclear.

I'm ready.

The discussion over the last few pages has me a little nervous, but I'm still excited for this.

This might be a dumb question, but is there a specific time that they drop on Friday? My wife doesn't give two shits about this series, so this might make for office watching if they are out at midnight or whatever.

I've seen some people speculating on that but i have no idea. I think Amazon released a time, I just don't know it.

I think the review embargo of the first 3 (6?) episodes ends tomorrow.

Ya I have some reservations on that depending on what direction they end up taking it, but very excited.

Even if they do a bunch of shite I hate in terms of changes - seeing Winternight, Shadar Logoth, traveling the ways, Tarwin's Gap etc. brought to the screen is going to be awesome.

From what I've seen with the sets, special effects, trollocs, etc. thus far, those scenes are going to look fricking awesome.

There's nothing on the Amazon Prime Video site about when it will be available... other than Friday. I guess I'll check back. It should be a slow day at work.

Dusty Wheel is somehow being affiliated with the production / marketing team. I think I remember him saying he knows the release time and would tell everyone what the release time is whenever Amazon said he could.

Makes me think it won't be a midnight Thursday release, i'm planning on having nothing to do on Friday after like 10:00 so I'll be ready.
