Openlibrary.org is great, but it works best on a tablet or computer rather than a cell phone.

Just join your local library. They will have a digital section. EBooks to your Kindle or tablet and audio books to your phone.

Amazon has a section of free ebooks, but last time I went looking for them you really had to dig. A lot of them are older classics published before copywright laws.
