I just finished reading both books and for the most part, I really liked them. What other books out there are similar to this?

So I'm a few chapters deep into Onyx Storm.
Onyx Storm Spoiler - (I've only read the first 3 or 4 chapters so it's not much of one)
Xaden can't get any Violet pussy because he might lose control and channel the venin powers that nobody ever explained how he got to begin with. He touched the ground, lost his soul, got bloodshot eyes and started frickin' everybody up. He's now a mouthbreather who is constantly craving the power of the earth but can't dark wield because of the magic wards. For some reason he's still very dangerous and might lose control and drain Violet but Violet refuses to sleep in a different bed because she wants to drain his nuts. Now when he's about to penetrate pussy his hands make the wood of the headboard change color so he has to stop and get all intense about his blue balls. This blue ball situation happened because both Violet and Xaden forgot that Xaden is now a venin. Seems a stretch to forget because all of the internal dialogue as been Violet pining about how she's going to save Xaden from being a venin.
It seems like EVERY conversation Xaden and Violet have is an argument. It's aggravating as all hell to read.
Now Violet is going to fly with her purple dragon that nobody realized was purple for two freakin' books to see if they can find other purple dragons that might know how to fix Xaden and beat the venin. She's also already committed high treason but the council decided they couldn't do anything to her because of a technicality.
Yarros really fumbled what could have been a cool story.
I may have missed something that explains the sh*t I'm aggravated with but I'm not giving these books much serious thought. Fourth Wing was entertaining but now I'm just continuing to read to see how bad they get.

BUT the books have been picked up by Prime (I think) to be made into a show so you will get to watch the scenes in like 5 years or so
No desire to ever read a Romantasy book ever again after reading A Court of Thornes and Roses. I probably would watch the show

Felt the same way, and generally the episodes lend nothing to the plot. They continue with Onyx Storm

She got most of the way through the Blade Itself. She stopped to read some other romantasy BS and hasn't gotten back to it yet.

This is definitely much better than that. Even though I liked book 2 of ACOTAR, I would say that Fourth Wing is fantasy romance but good rather than just kinda mediocre.
