Eric July and Razörfist
2 hour conversation that I had on while I was cooking.
Few bullet points:
1) DC and Marvel are no longer comic book companies, but IP storehouses
2) They do crazy woke shite to cause single issue sales booms, and to setup for woke movie/TV Show shite
3) The characters in their books are stand ins for the writer and his/her/they ideology.
4) The old "Diamond" model doesn't work, because practically all comic book stores are closed
5) the comic shops that remain, do so because of toys, tabletop games, and Manga.
6) Direct to consumer marketing is significantly more profitable, and allows instant customer feedback through direct purchases.

We're seeing a lot of this lately.

Gabby Rivera/America Chavez has entered the chat...
I've watched Eric July since before he created his Rippaverse. He's been deep into the industry and calling out M/DC for a looooooooong time.
Listening now, thanks for the post!

This is happening a lot even outside to comic books

This. The entire media/entertainment industry has been shifting towards writers/showrunners pushing their personal ideologies through their works for some years now.
They're insufferable narcissists, and it shows. Especially if you criticize them in any way.

All of that is spot on, and this woke takeover started around 2010. I stopped buying comics at that time since the stories were no longer what were important
