The amazon X-Ray stuff is really cool - especially the one about Thom's song in episode 3.
If we have seen the last of Thom in Season 1, that will be my biggest disappointment. I am really liking him.

seeing Rand grow into the Dragon and realize his power etc is something I'm very much looking forward to seeing.
so thats for the heads up on who the dragon is going to be.

It's obvious Rand will still be the Dragon
not to the non book readers
PS I don't even know how I got to this board . Didn't know it existed.

Do you not understand what this thread is? It’s a full book spoilers thread.

Yes, there is a movie / tv board thread for non-book readers.

Agree with this, but supposedly Lan was representing all the gathered aes sedai and warders grief together according to Rafe in a behind the scenes clip.
So it wasnt as out of character at first glance, but still wasnt feeling it that much.
Way too much Steppin considering how little screen time we have.
I really wonder if some of the changes they've made have been because almost none of the notable characters in the series die ever until the end, and they feel like they need to create characters that the audience has meaningful connection with that die? Like, part of what made GOT so big was "because no one is safe" and you just won't get that out of the WOT plot without alteration
Side note on that, I feel like they should pull Moiraine's "death" up to Tear for this reason

I think we still need some time with Moiraine / Rand in the waste to set up her changing attitude towards trying to control him, etc.
End of Season 3 is probably where I think we see that happen, not sure if we will make it all the way to Cairhein or have it happen somewhere in the Waste though.

I'm pretty sure that will be end of Season 2, I think the best way to handle combining the books would be to have Rand separate from the groups going to Falme, and have him do his solo trip to Tear for Callandor with Selene sort of goading / telling him to do so.

You're thinking of the MTV Board that got shifted

I was thinking they would build to Moiraine's death at the end of season 3 which is part of why they renewed it that far in advance.
I'm expecting season 2 to be a combo of books 2-3 building to the fall of the Stone of Tear and Rand getting Callandor.

Ya, that is the general consensus.
I think it can really work well if they use the portal stones sequences to sort of split them up. Can have Rand and Hurin I guess, or however they want to do it, split away from the group and shift towards Stone / Callandor while the rest follow a generally similar Falme plotline, sneaking in with Aeil, etc. Would need to work out who goes to which place.
OR you could just move stone of tear to Falme and replace turok fight. But that would be kind of weird to wrap in the Aeil and have it all happening there so I hope they split the group up instead.

Yeah, I wonder if they might do Falme/Tear at the same time at season's end, and have the Egwene seanchan stuff at falme with the others at Tear.
Also, I am assuming they will have Loial with Rand/Hurin then Selene.
Its kind of necessary to do this because it also propels Perrin's growth in terms of accepting his wolf senses.

If they were worried about meaningful connection, they might try slowing things down a bit and creating characters people could genuinely invest in. Watched episode five last night and they're losing me quick.
They're rushing. Chopping things out. Mashing things together. The characters are grating millennial cardboard cutouts. My kids are very confused why Perrin suddenly has wolves around helping him because it came out of nowhere. Egwene is facing a brutal murderer torturing her friend and her response is to be smart mouthed and flippant.
Scenery is beautiful. I like the Questioners. Everything else is sloppy and rushed.

I said it in another thread, and its not the end of excuses, but Rafe pretty much admitted in an interview recently that they thought they had 10 episodes including a close to 2 hour pilot, and then were told by Amazon execs well into the story building process...nah you have 8 and a 55 minute pilot.

frick Bezos for that.
Sanderson said his favorite episode was #6 and I think Rosamund said hers was #7.

Its really stupid what Amazon is doing with the Animated History Shorts that explain the world.
They are only available through the xray stuff on computers or handheld devices, not TVs apparently, and are hard to access.
I think if Amazon made them easily accessible it would help a lot of people understand the world better (from what I have heard. I haven't watched them).

I think you just have to access it during the show on TVs to click it - I watched them at my friends house on his TV but he may have been running it through his computer I suppose.
But ya, they should all just be in a separate section or grouped with those little lead in minute long teasers or something as well.

can 100% confirm that it does NOT work properly on the tv app - specifically on a brand new LG C1 oled. The bonus features section under xray is just blank when brought up through the prime tv app. When brought up on a laptop through the web interface it works properly.
Totally agree that they are making it way too hard to find, with all the marketing they've been doing its crazy to me that they are basically hiding these.

I think they would be REALLY helpful for non book readers.
Its ridiculous what they are doing with them.
