Thanks for this recommendation. Fantastic story. Gotta find something quick to read in-between the next one.
I've been reading the Broken Empire trilogy while I wait for book 2 and it's pretty good and quick.

I'm about halfway done. It's really good. Assassins Creed Valhalla and this came out on the same day so I've been in Heaven since Tuesday with all this great content

I just finished Rage of Dragons. I’m just echoing everyone else saying great rec again.
Do I want to go pick up the new one this evening?

Could you spend less time reading other people's stories and more time telling your story to Chronicler? Thanks.

Finished the 2nd book. Not sure how I felt about it. Pretty good but as my kindle was saying 90% done I knew the end would just be a lead up to the 3rd book. Still thinking on it.

Finished as well. I think the 1st book was better but the 2nd book was a very entertaining read. Was pretty short imo I just flew through it.,

Nothing to add about book 1 that hasnt been discussed - it is great. Thanks for the suggestion.
I wanted to add that I listened to the audiobook narrated by Prentice Onayemi and thought the narration was outstanding. If anyone is considering going the audiobook route, then go for it. It is great.

This book has absolutely hooked me. I was enjoying it and then I got to the testing scene in chapter 3 and Now Im enamored and I can’t put it down.
I’ll come back when I’m done so I don’t change any spoilers but damn this book is great

Spoiler:
Spoilers:
Holy shite the dual by Tau against Mayumbu for the round was awesome.
The combat is ridiculously well written in this book. You feel like you’re watching it instead of reading it.

Agreed, the fight scenes are very well done. I'm a bit late to the party on this one, bit I'll agree with everyone in here that the first book is excellent.
Second book is very solid too, if not quite as good as the first.
As the OP mentioned it has some similarities to the Demon Cycle by Peter Brett in the world setup, and as mentioned by someone else in thread I think the style of the series has similarities to the Red Rising series
