The Will of the Many was good.
I'm planning on reading this one once I'm done with Expeditionary Force.

The Suneater series is all time for me too in addition to The Three Body Problem series. I just can’t find anything as good as either of these [although they are obviously very different from each other].

Have you read the original Dune series?

Anybody read The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones?
Saw a guy post on FB about it with a really interesting review so I'm giving it a shot.
I guess it's more horror than fantasy and horror definitely isn't my genre but I'm 100 pages in and this is fantastic. Very unique story. Goodreads link

I read it a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. It’s a unique take on the vampire genre which is an accomplishment in itself.
I just started this as I wait for the sequel to The Will of the Many and the final Suneater book next month.

I have not. I’ll check it out.

Pretty sure I posted about the Buffalo Hunter Hunter in this thread or maybe the "what are you reading" thread. And yes... it's fantastic. Made me want to read more by that author (though I haven't yet).

Make sure it is the original Dune books written by Frank Herbert. NOT the abominations written by his son Brian.

On Book 5 of the War Eternal by Rob J. Hayes. I have mixed feelings about the series, but it's grown on me. It really took until about halfway through Book 2 before it caught its stride.
I read his Ties that Bind series previously, and I really enjoyed that series. I think that I'll probably take a break from his writing once I finish this up.

I enjoyed it a decent but, but yeah, it's not as good as the ties that bind trilogy and the best laid plans duology set in the same world.

I have to say, just a 20 or so pages in and I'm liking it. I almost didn't want to like it but got a feeling I'm going to like the weirdness.
I will say i wasn't a fan of the original 3 in the Farseer series. Was one of the bigger slogs I've had trying to finish it. I'm not a big DNF guy, especially since I buy the books so I hate buying a book and not finishing it. So I stuck it out but it was a chore. Given the hype, it was probably the most disappointing series I've read in a while.
It was a very well written book. I liked her writing style a lot. So no complaints there, it was simply that the story was boring. For 2.75 parts out of the book there was little to no fantasy. I'm like this is supposed to be one of the best fantasy series ever and I'm waiting like 2,000 pages until I get to some legit fantasy.

People claiming that definitely oversold the series to you. And I say that as someone who liked all the Rainwild and Fitz books. But they are more 7.5 out of 10 type books for me. And the pace is definitely the issue with the Fitz books. Hobb became big in the late 90s when there was less good fantasy to choose from as well.

I think you'd pretty much have to try to not enjoy DCC's humor. And you definitely won't have any complaints about the pace of that series.

I knew I would like it. I was pleasantly surprised how much I ended up loving it. I would buy the kindle and audiobook bundle on Amazon for around $10 per book. I read most of them but I would often times stop and listen on audible just for certain characters and the achievements. Jeff Hays knocked Tim Gerard Reynolds out of my top 3 narrators (Pacey, Porter, Hays).
I started the first book of this trilogy to bridge the gap between The Will of the Many and its sequel that releases mid November. I might end up finishing the trilogy before then.

Interesting that you read the first book of a new series by him before his original trilogy. I haven't read The will if the many (and probably won't until his finishes the series, as I'm kinda done starting new unfinished series unless they are available on Kindle unlimited), but the Licanius trilogy is a very solid series.

I started TWOTM because my friend said he was thinking of reading it. Of course he hasn’t even started it yet. I wasn’t aware of Islington’s other books until I finished it. Not my first time reading things in a silly order. I didn’t touch Mistborn until I read all five Stormlights.
