Amazon - Innocence Lost

The story is set in a small Louisiana town and various theaters of war from the late 1930s through the early 1950s. Here is the blurb about the novel:

A bitter-sweet wartime/romance covering the late 1930s to the early 1950s involving five young people (three men and two women), lifelong friends who graduated from high school in a small southern town on the eve of World War II. The men fight the war in different ways as the women man the home front. Circumstances lead to betrayal and deceit among the friends.

In the depths of Louisiana's bayou's embrace, A tale unfolds, a saga of youth and grace. Five souls entwined, bound by lifelong ties, Embarking on a journey where innocence dies.
Through the late '30s, '40s, and '50s, they tread, A generation tested, by war and love led. Bobby and Sweetie, a forbidden affair's bloom, A secret kept hidden, a child's life in the womb.

Harry, born to wealth, seduced by Sweetie's charms, Deceived, he believes he holds the child in his arms. Paul and Vonceil, love's flame burning bright, Married before war, united in the fight.

The Japanese's cruelty, Bataan's Death March, Paul endures horrors, an indomitable arch. Yet after the war, he heals, becomes a healer, Their love stands strong, a union none can steal.
Bobby, lost to Korea, never knowing his kin, Fights valiantly, unaware of the truth within. And Harry, he embraces the realm of politics, While Sweetie yearns for the one she truly picks.

A "coming of age" tale in the southern land, Where friendships are tested, foundations withstand. Innocence lost, as life's trials take their toll, Yet hope lingers, resilience the heart's stronghold.

Innocence Lost by Artificial Intelligence

I used Artificial Intelligence to edit my manuscript. AI suggested the title and wrote a poem capturing the essence of the work.

So, how did you use AI for edits? The more details the better.

I purchased Grammarly Premium for this project and uploaded my entire manuscript (next time, I'll do only chapter by chapter).

Grammarly analyzed my manuscript and recommended over 2000 changes. You could choose between accepting all recommendations or reviewing the recommendations item by item.

I choose item by item and reviewed each suggestion by Grammarly over a few days. Some of their proposals seemed off-the-wall which I rejected, but I probably allowed 75% of the changes they recommended.

I used Chatopenai to decide on a title and also had her write a poem capturing the essence of my story to include in the intro section of the book.

Using ai to edit my manuscript was not perfect, but for my three previous novels I hired human editors which were much more expensive than Grammarly Premium, and I was not satisfied with their products.

I read an article about a lawyer who used AI to write a brief. The AI actually made up fake case law and put it in the brief. I can’t imagine how bad that turned out for the lawyer!

I will be buying Grammarly soon.

Intend to write almost stream of consciousness for first draft. Print and beef up for second draft.

Then go back over for tense. punctuation and spelling. I also tend to use placeholders for character names or places and the do a search and replace. So I have to make sure those all get done.

I use Grammarly all of the time. It's worth it to me for the suggestions.

thanks for the insight ... but i would have a good graphic designer clean up the cover. A better design could go a long way for you.
