Ya I was hesitant on Sanderson after only reading the original Mistborn Trilogy but I didn't want to put this one down - helped that its a pretty quick and easy 400 page read. But definitely going to pick up the next two in this series this afternoon.
I'm really looking forward to digging into the Stormlight Archive once he gets a few more volumes out.

Stormlight Archive.
I read the first book of this series and really liked it. I need to get on reading the next two books.

I found out its a planned for like a 10 book series so I'm gonna give it some time to get a bit further along before diving in.

I'm caught up on Stormlight and I fricking love it but I wish I would've waited a bit. It's just gotten intense and now I have to wait who knows how long to get the next installment

Yeah, I read the first Stormlight book back when it came out in paperback way back when and then found out it was going to be a 10 book series. I really liked it, but decided to wait until he was almost done with the series to read the rest. Sanderson just has too many book series going at any given time for me to jump in early on a 10 book series.

Finished Shadows of Self - last night, the Wax and Wayne series has been very intriguing thus far. The few big twists at the end of this book were great and definitely got me excited about the next one.

I'm on the third book as well (bought the trilogy for the least amount of downtime ). Solid series thus far with not just a great take on magic but on a world that's been dominated for so long (and the repercussions thereof).
I'ld put his system up there with Salvatore's Demon Wars Saga. Both are very clever, have well-defined limitations and can have consequences.

I'd recommend going on to the Wax and Wayne series when you are done (a few hundred years into the future after Mistborn in the same world). I just finished the third in that series (Bands of Mourning) and it really opens up the world, some major twists and reveals in the second / third books.
Plus I think Sanderson took a huge leap in his writing from the original Mistborn.

I recommend Mistborn. I feel like Sanderson is the anti-Rothfuss and I want to reinforce his good behavior and neg that shithead Rothfuss as often and as hard as I can. What you give up in not having Rothfuss’ excellent prose (Sanderson is just serviceable) you get paid back for in spades by gaining an author who actually plans his works out beforehand, both the plot and character arcs, which makes it possible for him to actually complete his works and then move on to others and complete them too. Sanderson also has a great magic system, so that’s a wash. Overall, Sanderson is the guy the fantasy community should be supporting and that dickbag loser Rothfuss should be abandoned like the roadside trash he is.
