They ship incredibly fast. I ordered a book around 10am and got an email around noon it had shipped. Don’t know how long it will take to get here but I was not expecting the amazon like speed on their part I’m impressed.

Just a fyi...

You can order hardcover books in "like new" condition from Thriftbooks for pennies on the dollar. Free shipping on orders over $10. If it doesn't bother you to buy used.

Yeah, there's a Barnes & Noble right down the road from where I live. If there's a book I know I want I love going in there and picking it up if I can. If it's not there I'll just perusing other sections to see if I can find something I'd be interested in.

If neither of those work I'll order offline and they are pretty damn quick.

Same here, I like cruising through barnes and noble and browsing their options.

I also use ABEbooks and get a lot of good deals on used books I want in hardcover or that I cant find elsewhere. Their shipping is usually free but it can sometimes take a week or two for the book to arrive.

ABEbooks is great. I was able to find a copy of Robert McCammon's The Hunter from the Woods for a good price.

The only good thing about Barnes and Noble is actually going there to read

I have been a huge B&N fan for many years. Bought their ereader when it first came out and I am on my third one cause I was kinda rough on the first 2. As I age and my vision fades I love the adjustable light and font size. It was getting hard to read with out glasses and I do a lot of reading in bed. I do love going in parousing the shelves and sitting with a cup of coffee and reading in their cafe great way to kill some time. Their on line site is pretty good and there are thousands of good books to be had for free to very cheap for readers.

What’s the tangible book quality of those used books for the sites mentioned?

I have a few series I’d like to round out in Hardcover. In particular I’m missing a few WoT novels.

Thriftbooks sells hardcover books in like new condition for under $6. Free shipping on orders over $10. You also build up points until you get a free book. Give them a look.
