According to my library it's 21 days, but i can't always finish in that time. Thirty days is a much better number for me. I don't read on the weekends.

Generally try to get 20-50 pages in on any given day. Normal size books 400-600 pages up to 12 weeks. Books like Stormlight take about a month even though I’m plowing through it. Work and kids take a lot of time lol.

That's me exactly... IF I start to nod off, I stop.. and then I drink a couple times a week so there's that.

Thanks. I don;t feel so bad now... If I can get 20 pages a night I feel good about it.

If I read as much as i bitch on the internet I would own a library.

I usually keep a few audiobooks going for the daily commute. They can last a while.

When I pick up a book to read, I tend to burn through it in a couple sittings, so I finish it in a few days, sometimes a week.

I read Verity the other day which is around 350 pages in 6 hours.

I checked out all 4 of the Pillars of the Earth series from the library and finished 3 before they were due back. Around 1000 pages each.

How many hours you spend is more telling than how many days, but it's harder to keep track of.

When I get a good one, I just keep going.

Not every book is created the same either. Some have a ton of empty space on each page, some can't fit another word on them.

Depends on the length, so anywhere from a day to a few weeks. I usually read about 4-5/month. Sometimes more if shorter

I keep a spreadsheet of the books I read. So far in 2022, I've read 32 books with an average page count of 477. Including the book I'm on (#33), that's 126 pages a day.

Since 2011, I've read 617 books with an average page count of 482. That's 298,588 pages, 26,274 pages per year, 72 pages a day, and 54.3 books per year.

Man, I need to get out more...

Nothing wrong with that. I’m a compulsive book hoarder. I keep a spreadsheet of every book in the house. Then once every year or two I print out a new set of cards and keep them in an old timey Globe-Wernicke card catalog cabinet like libraries used to have.

Don’t feel bad - I don’t think I’ve finished reading a book in two years, and I’m a librarian (not working at the moment) which coincides with when I joined TD

For a 400-600 page book, about 6 months. I only read as I go to sleep. After a few pages, I usually fall asleep.

Depends how long and what it’s about. I hate not stopping at chapters so if the book has short, frequent chapters i can read a few at a time and find stopping points then pick up again when im ready.

It really varies based how busy I am and how captivated I am by the story.

Sometimes it takes a month, sometimes I’ll read a 500+ page novel in 2 days.
