Ghost Road Blues trilogy by Jonathan Maberry is great too. Actually set during Halloween.

I was in the middle of harvest season and didn't have time to read a book but I really enjoy audiobooks during that time.
I had to cut heart shaped box off a few times just because it was fricking with my head

I liked The Strain trilogy as light horror reading. Nothing groundbreaking, but fun.
