So a field of 64, Littlefinger is running a little Vale March Madness. Wonder how he's fixed the odds lol

It'd be great if he quit giving the book out chapter by chapter and instead finished the damn thing and put them all together in this thing called a book.

OK SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
Yeah, I know that Sansa came up with this whole tourney, but LF definitely saw the brilliance behind it. Think about it, who is more remembered from all the legendary tourneys: the knights who joust, or the fair maidens who take the hearts of the knights? The 4 most memorable people at the Tourney at Harrenhall were Rhaegar Targaryen, Lyanna Stark, Ashara Dayne, and Elia Martell. Everyone in the Vale already likes Harry, but they still think of Sansa as LF's bastard, who is already as low born as a highborn could be. LF wants to give them an appetite for war again, and he wants them to all fall in love with Sansa. LF is using this to raise his own army, which will fight for Sansa and Harry. Plus it will give Harry and Sansa their own King/Queensguard.
And with SweetRobin still around, I've got a new theory on how he croaks: On the day Sansa is to marry Horrible Harry, LF has Sansa go in to soothe SR before the wedding and drug him so he won't flip out during the middle of it. Sansa again insists since she's bastard born that she can't marry SR. Anyway come time for the ceremony, SR is wild and having to be forced to stay in his seat by his newly appointed Winged Knights. When Sansa steps out on the dais wearing a direwolf grey cloak, SR will realize who she is, and then either during or shortly after the wedding itself, have a heart attack or stroke and die. No one would think too much of it since everyone saw that kind of death coming to SweetRobin and at that age. LF will have however given Sansa some sort of chemical that would make him highly hyperactive and hopefully make his heart give out. And LF will get away with it, with Sansa being the only person who suspects him, being familiar with how to soothe him.

Michael Bay called, he has a new Transformers for you.
I thought the chapter was great. Sansa is still learning the game, but she's begun playing and is playing well.
Now finish the book Fatty.

But how many men can the Vale raise? Somewhere around 35,000 from sources, with a good percentage of highly capable knights is a pretty strong contender in the war torn Westeros.
But the Tyrells still have double that in the field between Tarly and Mace. Dorne is also untouched and sit somewhere between 20-30k men. Then Stannis is busy buying an army and raising what's left of the North and the Wildlings. Throw in Aegon and his small but highly trained and skilled force.
The question is what LFs endgame. Unite the Vale and the North as a separate kingdom? One thing I think Martin has done well is keeping us from really grasping LFs intentions.

You've got to keep in mind what the rest of Westeros has. The men from the Westerlands and the Stormlands aren't what they used to be after 3 years of war, and the Riverlands and the North are near fully depleted, and the Ironborn can't field that many right now, especially with Victorian taking his forces to Essos. The soldiers of the Reach are spread thin, with some at Dragonstone, some at Storm's End, and many more at Oldtown fighting Euron.
Now through all this, which armies are untapped? There are only 2: Dorne and the Vale. I think when word reaches Doran's ear about what happened to his son Quentyn, then he declares for Aegon immediately. That gives Aegon an untapped army, and one that could help defend the Reach from Euron, which will give him more Reach loyalists.
Now, with only the Vale left, and an army of 35,000 men, Littlefinger would have now at least the second largest military in the 7 Kingdoms under his paw, with only the Tyrells coming close. Part of Littlefinger's long term scheme is to keep the Vale out of the war so he could get that army fully intact, while his foes have cut their numbers at least by half if not more.

And only one of those is a current/near future threat for LF, and that's Stannis.

Really, it's to watch the world burn and only for the highborn to realize too late on how he outsmarted them all. The truth is almost all of the war among men is focused on the South, and the Vale has natural defenses that should keep anyone out at least until Spring. For now I think LF first plans on uniting an army, then taking that army to the Twins and do a Red Wedding Part 2, then reach Winterfell, and once he's there, see where the pieces in the South have landed.
I think he's counting on the Northmen betraying Bolton and Stannis' men to die up North facing the remaining Boltons and Freys. And if Stannis survives, LF is counting on having 30,000 men with him to wipe out Stannis, which is a much higher number than he has.

Tarly's army has secured Margarey. Mace brings his army back to Kings Landing. Just across the bay his son has what's left of their forces at Dragonstone. Mace could reasonably have around 40,000k men ready and all located with the Crownlands.
His remaining banner men are dealing with Euron and the ironborn so that 40,000 is it available to him but that is all men loyal to his house and lands. He's integrated into the city watch and now he is Hand of the King, Lord Regent Kevan is dead. He has talented commanders like Randyll Tarly and His sons. He has what's left of the legitimacy of the current crown, as well as the opportunity to switch to either Aegon or Danerys based on what he did in Roberts Rebellion. Mace may be a loaf, but he's baked himself into an excellent position going forward. I've been crackpotting him possibly marrying off Margarey to Aegon if he decides the Lannisters are spent(which they are).
In my opinion, so goes the Reach, so goes the crown of Westeros.

I hope Loras is ok and comes back. I like his character the little that we know of him. He loves him some swords, but that's ok

While I do agree with you on Tyrell numbers, I don't think they'll ever go north of King's Landing. LF causes havoc in the Riverlands and the North, so what? They were never enemies with them and that's Cersei's and the Frey's problem. Plus I doubt the Tyrells want LF anywhere near the capital to where he could tell them they poisoned Joffrey directly. LF and the Tyrells will try to avoid each other's territories and ambitions for as long as possible.
And I think the Tyrells will go to Aegon, so long as they can secure Margeary's life and preferably a dowery to Aegon.

Saw this today. Does anyone believe it? I want to believe it but not holding my breath
Winds of Winter release before season 6 premier
Plus there's this quote from the articleIn one intriguing new wrinkle, Martin says he just came up with a big, revealing twist on a long-time character that he never previously considered. “This is going to drive your readers crazy,” he teases, “but I love it. I’m still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It’s a great twist. It’s easy to do things that are shocking or unexpected, but they have to grow out of characters. They have to grow out of situations. Otherwise, it’s just being shocking for being shocking. But this is something that seems very organic and natural, and I could see how it would happen. And with the various three, four characters involved… it all makes sense. But it’s nothing I’ve ever thought of before. And it’s nothing they can do in the show, because the show has already—on this particular character—made a couple decisions that will preclude it, where in my case I have not made those decisions.”

Leonard Bernstein was a bigger prick but made great music. Writers and artists tend to be such.

So is it a consensus that young Aegon is not the real Aegon? If so, why?
I am not convinced he's a fake. I also think that even though we haven't seen him in any of the previews, he will definitely be on that boat with Tyrion but the boat storyline won't be drawn out as long as it seemed to be in the books. Like maybe 3 episodes and in the third episode Tyrion figures out who Griff is like just as they get off the boat or something and then they part ways.
Cut out all the Tyrion/Penny stuff and move him and Jorah straight to Dany.

I'd be really surprised if we saw him this season or at all. The bunch around here and over at Westeros.org checks all the casting lists for the upcoming season and there hasn't been anything at all to indicate he's going to be around.
