The story is called a Song of Ice and Fire. Ice=stark Fire=Targaryen. Jon is ice and fire. Ifso facto... story is about Jon.
1. Jon isnt a stark.
2. Ice and Fire represents a number of things. Good and Bad. Life and Death.
Going by your motto, Bran should be the Stark. He is by far the most powerful character in the story. He has basically become a God. He's the only person ever to have been able to talk through a tree. The three eyed raven didnt even think that possible, and he's done it as a kid.

Yes he is.

Is Bran the Lord of Winterfell? Or will he remain North of the wall forever and Rickon will become the heir?

He's Stark on his mother's side.

No, it represents Jon. Because he is ice (Snow) and fire (Targaryen). "...and his is the story of ice and fire."

None of this makes any sense.

Technically, Jon is the Lord of Winterfell as Robb named him a Stark and gave him the title. But Jon is more than that so I would guess Rickon will be next in line. Bran is way to special to be Warden of the North. Warg of the North maybe, but his path will lead somewhere different. He will likely always remain an outsider like Bloodraven.

When did this happen?
I recall Robb considering naming Jon his heir until he had a child, but did he ever do anything to make it official?

Letter he sent with Maege Mormont. Catelyn was all pissed off about it of course because it made since.
*Looking into it, Jon was never 100% confirmed to be named in the will. It was heavily implied, but we don't know for sure. (Sounds familiar) Where the Hell are Maege and that Glover she was with? It has been a long time since anyone has seen them.

If you want to be technical he's Stargaryen.

Exactly. To say he's not a stark is pretty stupid.

I'm not saying that's not one of the meaning. I say it has multiple meanings because 1. It's mentioned in the book that it can mean life and death and 2. GRRM himself said it has multiple meanings.
I don't think it's outrageous to think that or your stupid to think it only represents Jon. I'm sure I spelled something wrong in this post so I'll go ahead and say I'm stupid before someone else does.

I think the "song of ice and fire" is going to be represented in 3 characters
i.e. the dragon has 3 heads
Dany (AA), Jon (TPTWP), and someone else

Book thread. The show doesn't count
Dude, with the years that we have to wait between books, this thread has morphed into an all things Game of Thrones/ASOIAF thread. And with the series possibly passing up the books, the show has become even more relevant.
SO, since we apparently still have lots of time to wait before TWOW, what do y'all think happens next with Jaime and Brienne?

Brienne?
Her storyline is shitty, so hopefully they pick it up like with the show where she fought the hound.
ETA - Also, I really hope she's not the one related to Dunk, but I"m almost positive she will be. Really hoping it's Hodor.

Why? I really wish they do a tales of Dunk and Egg prequel.

I agree. There's the whiners who think that the show is Kardashian level of trash because it's not verbatim page by page. I've accepted that the show is going to pass the books and it's not going to prevent me from being a show viewer. Are there changes I wasn't happy about? Yes. Are there changes that I thought were better than the books? Yes. But is it going to deter me from being a fan of both? Hell no.

Specifically when Oberyn and Tyrion meet and when he says he'll be his champion. So much better than the book.

And the Arya/Tywin scenes in the show instead or the Arya/Roose scenes at Harenhall in the book. A MASSIVE upgrade.
