The trailer shows tyrion with dany already so they have jumped significantly. And it would appear they have cut out a large portion specifically when tyrion figures out he is traveling with the targaryian heir. Please forgive the spelling

Me too. I was adamant about not watching being they are passing the books at some points, but eventually gave in. Will be interesting to transition from Maester to Hodor haha.

We had a damn watch party for the finale last year with 4-5 Hodors. it was the big moment where it's fun to see what your face probably looked like when you first read about something crazy going down. I'll be so pumped if this turns out to be true

ETA: And I can't imagine them substituting her for the "Hooded Man" in Winterfell that Theon encounters.

I'll take Varys at his word that he's been cut. Really if Varys is a Blackfyre and he isn't cut, what does he need fAegon for? Varys would have rallied a cause around himself earlier instead of what I think is his nephew.

almost done with DwD for the second time.
Jon is kind of an idiot. Reading it knowing what happened to him made me change my opinion of him a bit seeing as he listens to nobody and every single chapter he goes against yet another thing the watch has stood for for thousands of years.
The meeting to announce that he was going north and was sending a group south to save a bunch of useless/dying wildlings was the dumbest thing ever. You have your brothers there and you have this rallying call for all the wildlings. I mean I would have been super pissed if I was a dedicated brother of the watch.
Melisandre tells him early on that its those that he thinks are friends that he needs to worry about and he never gives a single thought to it.
But im fairly certain Melisandre saves him. It will suck if he dies because he is a good guy, but I think she brings him back.

Agreed.
However, it is also hard for me to grasp the hatred for the Wildlings given that we know whats coming from the North.

Jon is clearly who the story is all about as he is the embodiment of ice and fire. If he is dead for good, everyone is going to revolt. I'll keep reading, but I won't be happy about it.
