Dany is about to make her turn. She was brought almost to death by Drogon. Her second time in the Dothraki Sea was her turning point IMO. She started to see thing more clearly and I believe after wrecking shite in Mereen she returns to Westeros a proper Targ.
My ideal scenario: Dany uses her dragons to lay waste to the Yunkai and the Sons of the Harpy in very short order. Unlike other battles, this one is a complete massacre and garners a lot of support for Dany's cause.
She then sends Barristan, Jorah, and Tyrion with her entire army as well as Viserion and Rhaegal to Westeros while she rides Drogon East to the Shadow in order to fulfill Quiath's prophecy where she learns of the Others and the coming storm.
She lands on the shores of KL just as TWOW comes to a close. As ADOS opens, she leads her armies and dragons into KL and secures the Iron Throne. Then they move North to the Wall for the final battle.

I don't want that little count Dany taking the Iron Throne.
I do agree that she absolutely destroys the Yunkai and the SotH.

Although, I don't see Dany sitting on the Iron Throne at the end. Do you think Faegon will get roasted by her dragons?

Either that or he is legitimate and will be a dragon rider. We have 3 possible characters with Targ bloodlines. Dany, Jon, and Aegon/Faegon. Not saying all dragonriders will be Targ's, but the numbers do add up. On top of that, even if Aegon isn't Targ, he is still indirectly Targ as a Blackfyre descendant.

I'm sure its been fleshed out elsewhere, and I guess this is a spoiler for TPatQ...
What are everyone's thoughts on the dragons that survived TPatQ? Silverwing, Cannibal and Sheepstealer are alive, and one of them has a rider that may or may not have been carrying a Targ baby. If Dany does indeed go on a trek to fulfill the prophecy, I wonder if she'll encounter Nettle's descendants and dragon?

All I have is unsupported predictions but I think:
Dany - Iron Throne
Tyrion - Hand of the Queen
Jon - Winterfell/Warden of the North
Sam - Lord Commander of the Wall
Sansa - Vale of Aaryn/Warden of the East
Jamie - The Rock/Warden of the West
Barristan - Dead
Jorah - Dead
Boltons - Dead
Freys - Dead
Brienne - Dead
Hound - Dead
Cersei - Dead
Tommen - Dead
Marcella - Dead
Stannis - Dies sacrificing himself for either Jon or Dany; probably the greatest death in ADOS
Mel - Helps orchestrate the Battle at the Wall then disappears East. Assumed dead by remaining characters
Bran - Becomes the TEC. Assumed dead by remaining characters
Rickon - Dead
Davos - Dead
Arya - Comes back to Westeros as faceless man and kills a lot of people. Fades into the East at the conclusion of ADOS. Assumed dead by remaining characters.
Littlefinger - Dead (killed by Sansa)
Varys - Dead

I really think Tyrion rides the third dragon.

I could see this. I also can see a scenario where the Wall is completely destroyed thus ending the Night's Watch.

I've thought about this as well, since I'm sure the Wall in at least some portions is coming down, but it's more the fact that there may be a definitive victory over the Others in that they are destroyed entirely, and thus the Night's Watch would be worthless then as well. If that should happen, then Jorah dies, and Sam either becomes the Maester of Winterfell or eventually Grand Maester.

Or the Others win . . .
Martin may be the only author on the planet where that scenario is plausible.

wouldn't that suck, 8,000 pages only to find out that everyone died and became a zombie?

For the end of the series, my prediction:
Sounds about right.
Yep; gonna be like his daddy.
I definitely want Jon to be King
I actually think he *may* end up as Lord of Horn Hill with Gilly as his wife if the Wall falls/no more Night's Watch.
I definitely think she'll be alive, and in some sort of leadership position. And will be married to a man of her choosing since she refuses to be sold off anymore for her claim.
This; or either Lord Commander of the Night's Watch (trading the white for the black) or Head of the King's Guard.
Either this or he'll die in Westeros
And is Jon going to give him back Longclaw? I'm not sure if Jorah survives. But my picks (assuming the Night's Watch isn't gone) for Lord Commander are Jaime, Stannis, or Jorah.
100% agree.
Yep
I 100% think Brienne will die but I'm not sure how. I imagine Cersei will flip her shite if she finds out that Brienne and Jaime love each other.
I actually he'll coming back into the story again in TWoW. Why else would Martin show him as a gravedigger? Too many interactions with Arya and Sansa for me to think that his character arc is done. I'd like for him to kill Robert Strong and possibly rescue Sansa from the Vale.
100% think that Jaime is her Valonqar and that he'll kill her in TWoW but Jaime won't die until ADoS. Either way, it's going to be an amazing scene to read about and watch on GoT.
Definitely agree. Probably will happen when Faegon's forces land and King's Landing gets sacked; Tyrells will let them into the city like the Lannisters did with the Baratheons. Plus I think Cersei almost poisoning Tommen during Blackwater foreshadows that she'll poison him again.
Or the Dornish.
I would love for this to happen
Yep
Yep
Rickon has spare heir written all over him like Trystane does.
I think Davos is going to die
.
I think Arya is going to die
.
It's going to be amazing. Probably one of my favorite moments in the series will be when Littlefinger dies, and I think Sansa is capable of doing it. She's slowly starting to let her inner wolf show through.
YES YES YES

I don't know. I'd give Martin major props for having the balls to do it. Plus, he could do it in the Epilogue of ADOS and make it kind of shocking.

Martin said that the series is going to have a bittersweet ending; having everyone turn into a zombie would be bitter.
Plus ADoS's original title was supposed to be "A Time for Wolves"...I think it's going to favor the Stark children and Jon a lot.

I'm really hoping that will be the Epilogue to WoW. Most of the time you spend in Stannis' head where he reflects on how terrible of a life he had, and now his one purpose of being King and Azor Ahai has been taken from him by Jon Snow, who he now knows is the legitimate son of Rhaegar. The Others then storm all around him, and Stannis is captured by them. The ultimate bitterness and failure to stop them finally consumed, and the Others do a ritual, where is soul feels like its on fire and frozen, but soon clarity comes and a new renewed purpose, as a new king of a new order of people.

Also there's this passage from the House of the Undying that gives credit to this theory:
quote:
Glowing like sunset, a red sword was raised in the hand of a blue-eyed king who cast no shadow.

Yes, the 1st left the show, the 2nd has gone back to being the Leader of the White Walkers.
