They may have possibly been truly behind Viserys or Dany at one point (doubtful IMO. They sold Dany to Drogo solely to remove her from the equation) but I think they've now placed their full hopes in Aegon now with Dany possibly being a backup plan,in the event of Aegons death, at best.
Honestly, I think Dany and Viserys' place in Varys' plan was to keep Robert and the rest of the realm occupied on them and away from Aegon, and maybe as a bonus give them a Dothraki army. They weren't counting on it though. Dany only really entered Varys longterm plan once she got the dragons.
I don't think Dany is a backup, and I think Varys wants to secure her dragons and her army for Aegon before killing her off. He'll extend an olive branch and a marriage proposal to Dany when she arrives in Westeros, but Tyrion will know better and refuse it.

Aside from Davos, I really, really don't see Stannis or Myrcella surviving the series.

GRRM said we would see the Landof Always Winter and I suspect we well do so from the eyes of Benjen Stark.

Yall are some spoiled whiny bitches. Wtf are you to question his creative process. He has made a series of some of the most engrossing and entertaining books ive ever had the pleasure to read, and instead of eenjoying what youve been given you whine about not getting more, now.
You remind me of the Jews that Moses drug to the promised land kicking and screaming and biting the hand that feeds you.
Its never been more obvious that I'm on a board frequented by LSU fans.

He wrote the first 3 books in 6 years. It took him that long to write ADWD.
And you apparently don't know this fanbase all that well.

Hello GRRM. Looks like another Stark just died.

I got my daughters confused. I meant to say Shireen not myrcella.

I agree for the most part. But he sold Dany to Drogo solely to get Viserys out of te way. He knew he would frick up and get himself killed somehow and he also knew that the dothraki would never cross the narrow sea.
Now I think Illyiro truly does care for Dany. He knew she was smart enough to find her own place among the dothraki and he gifted her the eggs so she would have something of high value to sell if she needed to get away. Now I assume he plans to marry her to Aegon in order to obtain those dragons for his and Varys cause.

So you're saying that it's because of LSU fans being whiny on this site (which I am susceptible to at times, i.e. today when we almost lost to a bad Arkansas team) that ASOIAF fans on TD are whiny and 'not deserving' of GRRM's books? Like OMLandshark stated, Martin wrote AGOT, ACOK, and ASOS within a 6 year time frame (all of which are excellent and consistent)...then he spent 5 years on a mediocre AFFC and another 6 years on a mediocre, making-you-want-more, ADWD. Martin himself has stated that he doesn't write or work on his books while he is out of town or watching NFL football games...so you can imagine what his progress has been since September. He hasn't come out and said it, but I highly doubt he's made any progress for the past 2.5 months and probably won't until after Christmas is over. He was in Australia and New Zealand for a whole month and didn't get back to New Mexico until yesterday (yes, I keep up with his blog and he rarely mentions ASOIAF progress, to my chagrin).
LSU fans, Kentucky fans, Ole Miss fans, Bama fans, AtM fans, Auburn fans, UGA fans, UF fans, etc.--basically fans from every SEC school frequent this thread and are all disappointed at Martin's progress. I want TWoW and ADoS to be EXCELLENT, and I understand that it takes time. But don't deny that Martin farted around being lazy while writing the last book. The "Mereenese knot" excuse should not constitute taking 6 whole years to write a book. I can imagine that half of that timeframe was spent not writing at all and Martin touring and attending nerd conventions.
Sometimes I wonder if his heart isn't into the series anymore, but I've been hoping that the success of the TV show would motivate him to finish his books in an efficient manner. I didn't start reading the series until 8 months ago, but I can tell you that based on what fans who have been around for 5 or more years have stated, to be wary of Martin and his progress. He's stated nothing about his TWoW progress...but I'm not that optimistic considering how his last 2 books took 11 years. I could be wrong, but I'd hope the HBO series would light a fire under his arse to write and release the books before the show catches up to him.

GRRM is just getting fat and lazy off his royalties. Can't blame him.
No comments on my biggest beta in ASOIAF?
Would you bang Tristifer Botley?

Jorah Mormont, like BluegrassBelle stated, is for sure one of the biggest betas in the series. He's the epitome of 'friend zone', and particularly Book Jorah is super creepy compared to HBO Series Jorah.
Oh and not sure about Botley since he hasn't appeared in the TV show yet to tell you if he'd be good looking enough to say IWHI or IWNHI. Certainly friendzoned by Asha because she lurves her some Qarl.
Couldn't we also say that Bobby B was a closet Beta? He may have come off as "I love cracking skulls and fricking whores, give me wine" but Cersei cuckolded him and Lyanna wanting nothing to do with him so she ran off with Rhaegar.

I think Robert was too Alpha for a true loving relationship with mutual respect. Bros before Hoes for Bobby B.
Not a beta. Cersi wouldn't poison a beta... Okay, she probably would.
ETA: Rhaegar was probably more of a beta.

Yeah, Rhaegar was more girly than Robert but probably treated Elia & Lyanna a lot better. I think that Lyanna & Robert's marriage would've played out very similar to Cersei & Robert's marriage. Lyanna would hate him, Robert probably wouldn't give up whoring and drinking. Lyanna would probably cheat on him but I think she would've had his true born children, one task Cersei failed at.
Also, what do y'all think about Varys being Gendry's mysterious benefactor? Why would Varys need Gendry to be educated in the blacksmith trade?

Oh hell, wipe the Dorne out of your vagina. Nothing wrong with people wanting to see him finish the series before he has his fatty coronary.

The LSU fan reference has to do with the fact that this is the golden era of Tiger football but to hear your average LSU tell it youve gone winless since Miles took over.
Also it wasnt so much the Meereenese Knot as it was both AFFC and ADWD having issues with timing and some plot lines advancing much faster than others organically, which meant others needed to be sped up to match, while others had to ve significantly slowed down. That is what led to all these delays, and effectively the travelogues and why it seems some pov chapters seem to have
absolutely no progression.
The web of plots and prophecies are so complicated and connected that it's no wonder that the earlier volumes were written so much faster than the latter.

Ok, George, we understand you like stuffing your fat face with Hohos and NFL. We understand that you've written less than 10 pages since the NFL started back, but stop being such a whinny bitch.

The irony is you're whining about us being a bunch of whiny bitches, but you're coming off as the biggest whiny bitch on this thread easily. Everything on this thread has gone swimmingly, and then you show up being a whiny bitch. So how about you shut the frick up and pull that moldy tampon out of your twat?

Im not whining about a fricking thing. Im calling you out on being a petulant little child who cant wait to open his shiny new toy.
Of course petulant little children dont like to be called out on their bullshite so you get all defensive and start with the name calling as the lowest denominator usually does.
No amount of bitching and complaining is gonna get the shite done any faster so im not sure what good it does, but as it becomes prevailing sentiment it can certainly do harm.
