Its just wanting to make more connections to the Targaryans. Tyrion is Lannister throughly. This isn't like Jon Snow where we know that there were suspicious circumstances surrounding his "aunt's" death, as well as a promise. Tyrion is pretty well accounted for. Plus there's no way in hell Aerys would be dumb enough to let Tywin into King's Landing if he did that to his wife, especially since it would mean his spawn killed her.
